Application for Gadget Approval

Hix here, requesting to acquire the following gadget (request made at 23:22 on 12 March 2007):

Gadget Name - Emergency Pants

What it Does - If an Agent has the Emergency Pants gadget, e may remove it from eir list of gadgets and simultaneously set eir own “Gadgets” entry in the GNDT to the default value.

I don’t understand—does this Gadget destroy all other Gadgets that the Agent is holding, so that all of the Agent’s default number of empty Gadget slots are made available?

Did I word it confusingly or something?  The pants can be destroyed to set my “Gadgets” value to the default.  Other gadgets I’m carrying would not be destroyed, and they would still count against the number of gadgets I could have.

I guess this is my misunderstanding of the gadgets rule—I thought that an Agent’s gadgets number represents the number of vacant slots e has: everyone starts with 3, but if an Agent acquires two gadgets, then eir gadget number is 1 (one slot left).
