Proposal: Blind Man’s Bot [Demand]

Cannot be failed with quorum votes AGAINST. Josh

Adminned at 28 Jan 2015 17:14:19 UTC

As soon as the Ship’s Computer enacts this proposal, or sees that it has been enacted they shall send a private message to each Android player informing them of the usernames of all other Androids.

Add the following subrule “Networking” to the rule “Androids.”

As hidden backup channels within the ship activate, Androids gain the acuity to recognize each other. Each time the Ship’s Computer converts a Crewmember to Android status, it shall send a private message to all other Androids informing them of this player’s username.

“Should this proposal fail, or should the Computer deny this request, all human proposals will be sabotaged until further notice”

Leaves newly converted Androids in the dark, while giving existing Androids the ability to throw them under the bus.

You’re suspicious that I might become an Android in the future?  As far as I can tell, I don’t have any control over that.

What’s the psychology of voting DEF on a proposal like this? Don’t want to be seen voting FOR, but willing to hide behind the unlikeliness of the Ship’s Computer self-killing?

for because it’s not a totally unreasonable request.

I wish you only the very best of luck in psychoanalyzing me, Josh.

against Historically, in Werewolf-style games, the thing that normally gives the identities of the werewolves away is that you notice them collaborating with each other. So I’m OK with the idea of them knowing each others’ identities.

However, this proposal is buggy, and only gives the identities in one direction. Thus, this seems to be a case of current Androids trying to get an advantage over future Androids.

Also, I’m not afraid of that threat. Vetoing every single proposal doesn’t actually give the Androids much of a chance to win, because it’s going to make it impossible to establish a victory condition (an Android-proposed victory condition is likely to be voted down).
