Proposal: Can’t take a hint

At 2-8, cannot reach quorum without a changed vote, and fails. —Brendan

Add a new subrule to Rule 2.2.  Call it “Hints” and give it the following text:

A Hint about an Agent or Impostor consists of both of the following:
*A range of four consecutive legal Heights, one of which is truthful
*A Cover Job and a Nationality, at least one of which is true.

For example, “A French Tourist between 5’4” and 5’7” ” would be a valid Hint concerning an Agent whose Description is ” 5’5” French Diplomat”

Whenever the Rules call on D-Ops to generate a Hint, he should give truthful Cover Jobs and truthful Nationalities with approximately equal probabilities.

I am leaving it up to future rulemakers to decide when it’s appropriate to give a hint.

Not sure why you say “approximately equal probabilities” instead of “equal probabilities” though.

for Maybe so that a coin toss won’t be too controversial. =P

against This still seems too tough on players unlucky enough to be stuck in a less populated section of the height chart, or to have a rare nationality or job. An artificial “give a description that always fits exactly five Agents/Impostors, including the target” sort of thing would be fairer.

against CoV, Kevan’s reasoning. I seem to have a rare nationality, after all.
