Proposal: Casus Belli

Passes 7-0. Enacted by Brendan.

Adminned at 14 Oct 2015 22:10:03 UTC

Replace the paragraph in the rule “Loyalty” that reads “A Cardinal whose Loyalty is Colonna or Orsini is a Roman. A Cardinal whose Loyalty is France or Spain is a Foreigner.” with

A Cardinal whose Loyalty is Colonna or Orsini is a Roman. A Cardinal whose Loyalty is France or Spain is a Foreigner. A Cardinal whose Loyalty is Florence, Naples or Venice is a Representative. This is known as a Cardinal’s Alliance.

Add a new paragraph to the rule “Nepotism” as follows:

If a Cardinal shares an Alliance with the Pope, they are considered to have 2 extra Nepotism for the purposes of gaining Influence under this rule, or 3 extra Nepotism instead if they also share the Pope’s Loyalty.

I think this works as written, but yes, I realize that if this gets traction I should add a cause clarifying that “none” is not a valid shared Loyalty.

against

“As a weekly action, a Cardinal other than the Pope may change their Loyalty.”

Does this not mean that the Pope will never have a Loyalty, and therefore no Alliance?

[delcooper11] See the last paragraph of the rule “Invasion:”

“If an Invasion has been pending for more than 48 hours, and its Attack Strength is greater than or equal to its Defence Strength, it may be Enacted by any Admin. The Pope’s Loyalty is changed to that of the Invading Power.”
