Clearing up idling

how does this work

Some Time Buddhas are Idle, and shall be marked as such in the sidebar. For the purposes of the Ruleset, excluding Rules “Ruleset and Gamestate”, “Time Buddhas”, “Dynasties”, “Fair Play” and any of those Rules’ subrules, Idle Time Buddhas are not counted as Time Buddhas.

If a Proposal contains a provision that targets a specifically named Idle Time Buddha, then that Idle Time Buddha is considered to be Unidle solely for the purposes of enacting that specific provision

When an Time Buddha is unidled, if they went Idle in the same dynasty, their personal gamestate retains the last legally endowed values it had, if they are still valid. Otherwise (including if a value is invalid, does not exist, or the Time Buddha Idled in a different dynasty), the Time Buddha is given the default value for new Time Buddhas, if such a value exists.

A Unidle Time Buddha may become Idling by making a request to become Idle in an entry or comment. A Time Buddha remains Idling until four days pass from the creation of said comment, an Admin renders them Idle, or they make another entry or comment canceling the request. An Admin may render an Idling Time Buddha Idle at any time. An Admin may also render any Time Buddha who has not posted an entry or comment in the last seven days Idle. Admins may render themselves Idle at any time.

An Idle Time Buddha who was not Idling within the last four days and within the current dynasty may become Unidling by making a request to become Idle in an entry or comment. A Time Buddha remains Unidling until four days pass from the creation of said comment, an Admin renders them Unidle, or they make another entry or comment canceling the request. An Admin may render an Unidling Time Buddha Unidle at any time. Admins may render themselves Idle at any time, provided they were not Idling within the last four days and within the current dynasty.

Idling Time Buddhas are still considered Unidle, and Unidling Time Buddhas are still considered Idle.

Whenever an Admin renders a Time Buddah Idle or Unidle, they must make a post to the blog announcing this change. If they change the Idle status of multiple Time Buddhas at once, they may announce all of these changes in the same blog post.

kinda annoying that one of the concepts that is the most simple to understand is the hardest to actually write correctly in the rules…

While you’re add it, add a separate term for “possibly idle player” and define Time Buddha as a non-Idle X.  The current definition that X is a Y but doesn’t count as a Y for the vast majority of the rules is awkward…

I feel like this could be compressed significantly.

Is this a proposed wording, or an attempt to describe how idling works in practice?
