Throughout the ruleset and gamestate…

  • Replace “IT Daemon” with “Dimurgos”.
  • Replace “Daemon Resources” with “Mephistopheles”.
  • Replace “Courtroom Daemon” with “Astaroth”.

Also replace “breed” with “name”, and “controls” with “employs”, throughout the “Daemons” rule.

for Hah, “controls” to “employs” is nicely sinister.

Game jargon is half the fun of Nomic, for me - that after a week of using these names, they’ll all become easily-remembered shorthand, and we’ll be saying things like “Oh no, half the players have Mephistopheles working for them!”.

In some cases they’ll be more intuitive, once you’ve read up on them - the effect of “Mephistopheles” is arguably much more easy to remember than that of “Daemon Resources”. And we’ll all have learnt something about historical demonology!
