In rule 1.2 Actors, change:
Admins may render an Actor Idle if that Actor has failed to vote for more than 7 days or has asked to become Idle.
to
Admins may render an Actor Idle if that Actor has asked to become Idle or if that Actor has not posted a entry or comment for more than 7 days.
This makes Admin work a lot easier, as EE’s profiles track the data needed to enforce it.
If you’re not voting, we don’t want you adding to quorum. If there is some special need to allow certain Actors to remain non-voting but active, we can deal with it on a case-by-case basis. Even this is already partially dealt with by “may” in “Admins may rener an Actor Idle…”
Yes, and you could also help to keep track of who is voting and who is not…
Disagreeing with Hix - if we idle someone because they’ve been playing the game without voting, then they’ll just request that they become unidled again.
People, the only practical effect of this proposal is to make a huge LOT easier to check if someone deserves or not to be idled. There’s not much difference about commenting and voting.
As much as I think the idea of ‘activity’ should be defined by voting, this really does make administrative work that much easier.
I find it interesting is that this broke very much admins v. not-admins at the beginning.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
