Proposal: How Hard Can It Be?

Times out 11-0. -Ornithopter

Add a new Dark List Action:-

Clumsily bludgeon a named Guest (known as the Target) that they share a room with. This is a Heavy action. Upon taking this Action, if the Target is present in the same room as the bludgeoning Guest, the Target becomes Wounded. (Unless the Target was Restrained, in which case they become Dead.) This action always makes a Thudding Noise in the room.

Throughout Rule 2.6, replace all occurrences of “, and a Dark List may contain only one [blank] action” (where “[blank]” is any word) with “; this is a Heavy action”.

Before “This list is known as a Dark List.”, add:-

A Dark List may not contain more than one Heavy action.

This makes it trivial for non-Murderers to get around any limitations on Arresting by instead Restraining then Bludgeoning people.

You can already get around the Arrest limit by just holding a Crisis to kill someone outright. Arresting was just a thematic alternative to a straight lynching, that hasn’t yet gone anywhere.

Why would you add that BEFORE “This list is known as a dark list”?
That doesn’t make much sense.

It is odd and kind of awkward to add it before (which I assume was a mistake), but it doesn’t alter the meaning: “[You can send in a list.] A Dark List may not contain more than one Heavy action. This list is known as a Dark List.”

The only thing “this list” can refer back to is the intended list, unless you want to argue that it refers to “a Dark List” in the added sentence, in which case any list that contains no more than one Heavy Action can be considered a Dark List. And since it isn’t actually defined what it means to “process” a Dark List that could be trouble…

I dunno, that’s a weird reading, and I think any scam based on it would lose a CfJ. I say its patchable.
