I always forget to check my mail…

Seems like we got a letter from the detective. About two days ago. Not really sure why the others would stay quiet about it (unless just because it’s more information for only us), but anyways, here it is.

The following message arrived in the Master Bedroom, sent with a Detective’s
Seal.

===

Greetings ladies and gentlemen,

I am a Scotland Yard detective investigating the unfortunate case of Lord
Cartlesham’s murder. I am fairly certain that alethiophile is one of the
murderers, but due to the circumstances around Ienpw’s recent injury, I am
lead to believe that there is another murderer lurking among us. I have
disguised myself as a guest here at Cartlesham Manor in order to find out
the murderers and bring them to justice.

I have set up a secret communication system whereby you may communicate
with me without knowing who I am; you can use it by emailing me at
.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). To further our common cause to have the
murderers brought to justice, please message me any information you might
have. If you are willing, I also might ask you to use your abilities to help
set up a trap or some such thing, it would be helpful if you acknowledged
your willingness to do so.

Also, if any of you are the other detective, let me know so that we can
work together. Although I would understand if you would prefer to remain
anonymous for now.

Be aware that if you don’t cooperate with me, you will arouse my suspicion.
Don’t take offense, it’s just the nature of the job.

As to who I am… I’m afraid I can’t tell you that right now.

Your friend,
The Scotland Yard detective.

Oh yeah, this letter made me wonder… do we have to roleplay? Never got to ask that question in the last Djinasty…
By the way, if we three in the Master bedroom would just conspirate, we could post any letters like this. I believe those of you who care might want to come here, more people means better odds of truth.

No, we don’t have to roleplay, but I tend to do it when I don’t have a scam to win; it is fun.

Hmm…? What? Role Play? Good heavens no. If any guest were to forget to role play now and again I would not hold them liable, or preach against them, though I might pray the more for their souls, but matters of such opinion are just that. Opinion. Nothing in the old tomes of rules requires guests to submit to such literary limitations.

Where was I? Oh yes! Studying…

Wait… how do we know this is legit?

We don’t, unless someone other than Uvthenfuv goes up to the master bedroom and reports also receiving a Detective-sealed letter.

Perhaps someone can send an email to the gmail address in question, requesting that the purported detective send a detective-sealed mail tube message to the master bedroom that contains a particular code word.

Kevan: he/him

I’m assuming that “he shall inform them of the letter appearing and it’s content” means that I just tell the people who are in the room when the letter “appears”, rather than forwarding all past messages to anyone who enters the master bedroom, for the rest of the game. CfJ if you think I’m misinterpreting the rule, though.

Uvthenfuv:

Kevan: That was my original intention, yes.

Ienpw III: I pointed that out myself in the commentary. Surely you can’t accuse me of making up a letter and at the same time pointing out that I’m not a reliable source ...unless I made that intentionally and am in fact in a conspiracy… but on the other hand, that’s just not true : ) (says me… you’ll have to wait for There’s and Darknight’s opinions for the most accurate image you can get… or just move people who can be trusted more (i.e. yourself) here. )

Anyway, I was pondering about a way to ensure such things after making that proposal, but maybe it’s more interesting this way…

Oh and if any of you are murderers, please don’t kill me I’ll post your letters as soon as I can ; )

Forgot to mention… this letter went to my e-mail, so it’s probably there for the other two recipients too

Yeah, I got this too. It was sealed by the detective for sure. I was just too lazy/busy irl to do anything about it.

I think either i didn’t get an email about it or my spam filter nailed it cause i should have seen it too lol.

I got it from Kevan’s email address, I would assume that he used the same address for all of us.
