Declaration of Victory: I like my new job

less than a quorum of votes, final vote 1-8—Yoda
hiatus ends

Per Rule 2.5 “Occupations” I have set my Occupation to Narrator.
From now on I am a Narrator, and therefore I have achieved victory.

The rule doesn’t say I have to pick the occupation from the occupations document, only that I may change it to any occupation.

for Explicit author FOR. I am sure some of you won’t like me trying for a DoV so soon, but you will have to argue against my logic first.

There is no such occupation. A narrator is a dramatic device, not a job. You can be employed as an orator, an author, an actor or a journalist, all of whom narrate events and stories, but you cannot be employed as a narrator. against

Actually, CoV again against

Rule 1.7 specifies that the GNDT may only be updated in a manner permitted by the current ruleset.

Rule 1.8 specifies there is only a single narrator, so unless you first deposed Yoda as narrator (which you didn’t), updating the GNDT to make yourself also a narrator is prohibited.

Having the occupation “narrator” doesn’t mean that you are the capital-n narrator for core rule purposes.  Besides, being narrator doesn’t enable you to declare victory, it’s the otherway around
