Well, not quite. You have to make a comment on an “idling post” asking to be unidled (or create a new post if no recent idling posts exist), and then unidle yourself, and then announce that you’ve unidled yourself.

Maybe it’s time to look at that rule again.

I think there was a feeling that idling and unidling needed to be explicitly tracked somewhere both for verification and for posterity, and that the vague, indefinite limit on requests could be misused. The rule we’ve ended up with does seem a bit overelaborate, though.
