Create a new rule called “Special Effects”:

A Special Effect is an set of instructions that a Scripter can follow when creating a Scene: this is known as Invoking a Special Effect. A Scripter can never invoke more then one Special Effect per Scene, and can only Invoke when the Special Effect Trigger is fulfilled, or when another rule allows the invocation (even if the Trigger is not fulfilled). The Trigger of a Special effect is a brief text that allows the Special effect to be invoked when it becomes true (which is known a fulfilling the Trigger). When a Special Effect is invoked on a scene, the comment where it is made must include an extra section detailing the Special Effect that was used.

Special Effects shall be listed as sub-rules to this rule, with their names being the titles of the sub-rules

Create a new Special Effect, “Exploding Vehicle”:

Trigger: The Script where this Special Effect is to be invoked must describe the exploding of a vehicle in 10 or more words, and the Body Count roll of this Scene is 4 or less.
Instructions: Before posting the Scene, the Scripter rolls DICE4 and add this result to the Body Count of the Scene (these additional deaths should be included in the script).

Create a new Special Effect, “Bullet Time”:

Trigger: The Script where this Special effect is invoked must include a character dodging a bullet or a similarly fast object in an implausible way, and must have not been used in the last three scenes.
Instructions: The Body Count of the Scene is reduced by 1 (as someone did avoid certain dead for now), but the scene is so cool that it cannot be Cut.

I will tie this with Signature Props on a future proposal.

against The trigger must be done before the body count can be added…which makes Exploding Vehicle useless.

And Script is the wrong word.

Scene is what you are looking for.

@Rodlen: No, it is the right word, it is the script where the required text must be placed. The Exploding Vehicle however, could be wrongly worded indeed.

Are you voting no just because one of the effects is not functional right now, or because you don’t like the mechanic?

Also, wouldn’t bullet time break things by making scenes uncuttable? Or is it intended to model the fact that shooting a bullet time sequence is so expensive that continuity are less important than the fact that the budget’s been spent?

imperial I like it, but I think we’re reaching the point where new scenes have more than enough bolt-ons.

Idea is good.

Effects that will be created: one won’t work, and the other is just plain broken.
