Call for Judgment: Nomic-breaking!

Add the following immediately after the point reading “Instead of deleting content from a blog post which has at least one comment, the content should either be struck through with strike tags, or replaced with a link to a copy of the same content on the wiki.” in rule 1.10 Fair Play:

An Apprentice may not edit his own blog post if it has one or more comment and/or has been open for 5 or more minutes.

It’s not *that* nomic breaking… I mean, if there are no comments…

against  for several reasons.
*Define ‘Open’. 5 minutes from clicking the ‘make a new post’ button makes writing long posts extremely difficult.  On the flip side, 5 minutes from submission is unenforcable.

*Rule 1.7 already forbids modifying official posts that have comments.

*Putting this in Rule 1.10 rather than Rule 1.7 implies that editing a post after a comment is grounds for banning, even if the comment was posted during the editting process.

*It is often useful to have more than 5 minutes to patch mistakes in official posts that would otherwise cause extreme inconvenience.

Oh, and:
*This would forbid certain edits that are explicitly permitted by the rules.
*As an extention of the above, this would forbid admins from adminning their own posts.
*This should not apply to unofficial posts, especially those used to unofficially track gamestate information.

And finally:
*This should be a proposal rather than a CfJ.

DEF does nothing on a CfJ.

For all the reasons bucky listed, I think this is a terrible idea.  I’m idle, tho, so feel free to ignore me.

Oh yeah. I was thinking this *was* a proposal.
