Proposal: Now, Voyager

Self-killed, failed by Kevan.

Adminned at 25 Nov 2014 11:02:13 UTC

To the rule “Navigation”, add:-

If the Orbit Number of Shuttle’s Orbit is greater than the Orbital Size of its Orbit’s Moon, then that Shuttle is Adrift.

Replace “an Orbit Number from 1 to the Moon’s Orbital Size” with “an Orbit Number from 1 to 50”.

Add a subrule to “Navigation” called “Thrusters”:-

A Shuttle may pay 1 Fuel to increase the Orbit Number of its own Orbit by up to 5. A Shuttle may decrease the Orbit Number of its own Orbit at any time.

If a Shuttle is Adrift, it may spend 1 Fuel to change the Moon of its Orbit to any Moon.

I had intended to reprise some of the Switch metadynasty mechanics.  So G20 would be adjacent to G1, rather than the opposite end of everything.

That said, my actual reason for voting against is that I want Orbital Sizes to remain small enough that Shuttles will end up in the same Orbit by ‘accident’ rather than by intent or by similar itineraries.

Ah, I was taking Orbit Number to be altitude rather than geostationary position, with some moons having a stronger gravitational field and allowing Shuttles to maintain orbit further out.

Orbital Sizes are unchanged, there’s just a (quite possibly undesirable) stretch of Adrift space outside of each Moon’s pull.

against Self-kill if others are building on Bucky’s version.
