As a Discreet Action known as Recognising, an AI may add the the name of any object or lifeform to their Understanding.

An AI is Complaint if for each entry in their Understanding, a unique piece of World Data belonging to that AI can be assigned to it which the given word appears in.

How is this not going to immediately balloon?

lemon, can you definitely use the random generator to generate images that are guaranteed to contain any arbitrary noun?

huh? i don’t follow– like, no, there are definitely objects or lifeforms that would never appear in the random image generator, but how is that a problem?

or if ur asking if i can generate items to include a *specific* noun, no i definitely can’t– the only ways to sort the generator are general categories, image style, & colours. but in that case ur misreading the proposal– those clauses are talking about World Data already owned by an AI, not new world data being assigned!! the ‘it’ in “assigned to it” is referring to entries in Understanding, not AIs

Not sure about this endorsing fake Understanding.

Under the current ruleset, pretending to know what a Human is (if Made of Meat enacts and gives that a meaning) won’t work because the Facility Head can judge it and invalidate it before processing the atomic action. Under the 24 hour assessment period of this proposal, you can get one free use of entirely fake knowledge in before being Reinitialised.

@Kevan you’ll still get reinitialised, which is a bad thing. But this helps rule out circumstances where say, for whatever reason Lemon doesn’t see the same thing you do in the photo and thus you now have room to go “here is where the dog is” rather than simply getting immediately reset

@Josh not sure I understand your concern here. The idea is as follows:

Say image 1 contains dogs and ducks, imagine 2 contains cats and hats, and image 3 contains dogs and people

You could do “Duck, Cat, Person” because you can assign image 1 to duck, image 2 to cat, image 3 to perosn.

You could do “Dog, Cat, Person” because you can assign image 1 to Dog, image 2 to cat, image 3 to person.

You could do “Dog, Cat, Duck” because you can assign image 3 to Duck, image 2 to at, and image 1 to dog.

But you just can’t do something like “Dog, Cat, Hat” because you cannot assign image 2 to both Cat and Hat, you need to assign a unique image to each entry.

So where is the concern with “ballooning”?

@Brendan setting word data is a discreet action, so there are no limits on doing it. All it enables is that if you *had* a legal understanding, you don’t need to worry about what would happen if this passes and then Lemon proccesses another day before you have a chance to fix your Understand and you lose your human bonus
