Proposal: So Close… [Take 2]

Add the following text onto the end of Rule 2.2 (Guessing):

If a guess is dissimilar to the theme in only one aspect and the staff member who made the guess still has at least one guess remaining, then the writer may post the words “follow up” and a new hint in his comment on the guess. If he does this, than no other staff member may post a guess until either 24 hours have passed or the player who made this guess has posted a new guess.

For example, the sentence describing the theme is “Green penguins may only fly when they are on an airplane,” and a player guesses that the sentence is “Green penguins cannot fly,” then the writer may post a comment saying “Incorrect. Have you ever flown before? Follow up.”

First off all, in order to be effective this needs to create a rule.

Second, I still think this is a little ambiguous. The mechanic could also slow down the game.

It changes a current rule…

1) It modifies an existing rule.
2) I would recommend only using this in circumstances where someone guessed so closely that it would not be fair if they lost just because someone else saw your response before they did.

actually it is, but italic text has no effect on the game state.
