Proposal: Viva la Revolution

Veto of a s/k—Wakukee

Adminned at 22 May 2009 14:19:57 UTC

Add the following to rule 2.1 (In or Out):

If, at any time, the number of outsiders is equal to or greater that twice the number of insiders, then all outsiders have their “status” value in the GNDT set to “In”, and all insiders have their “status” value in the GNDT set to “Out”. This is known as an Uprising. Whenever an Uprising occurs, the Fame of all Outsiders (before the Uprising) is increased by one, and the fame of all Insiders (before the Uprising) is decreased by one. An uprising cannot occur more than once a week. More than once uprising a week is bad for the ratings. Also, we don’t want anyone bashed to a bloody pulp too often. Our lawyers aren’t that good.

“Arise, my outsider bretheren! We have two men for every one of them! Join me and take back the fame that is rightfully ours!”

for but I plan to propose to amend this later to make such actions not automatically succeed. It would be more fun (and attract more viewers) if the rebellion had a random chance of failing; nobody wants to see a fight with a predetermined outcome.

Oh, and the italic text will end up in the ruleset, but we can fix that later too. (As far as I can tell, it doesn’t have any game-relevant effect; and it does not let you achieve victory.)

imperial This sorta makes the Show an infinite loop; but then, we don’t have a victory condition. . . .

for They had something like this on a pirate themed reality game show where the ousted people competed in a challenge against those still in the game. If they had won, they’d have been able to set up who was at risk of getting voted. They failed and didn’t get to do anything other then walk into the sunset if ya will.

Also: this has an automagic “GNDT somehow updates itself when condition X is met” feature, which we should generally try to avoid.
