[ I always enjoy the random, real-world research that a BlogNomic theme encourages - I’d rather hear about arbitrary, interesting historical figures, than people’s favourite fictional characters. ]
Remove all instances of “or fictional” from Rules 2.1 and 2.1.1.
Rename “Rincewind” to “Harold Lloyd” and “Jack Sparrow” to “Blackbeard”.

the idea. the result. Valkyries are fictional. Are we going to ban famous norse but mythical people from the final battle?
What if we limited it to historical and Norse mythology, for Rodney’s argument? Seems to complicate things, though. Simpler would be to just say all, or only real, and not worry about Valkyries being mythical.
Although I agree with Kevan and enjoy the learning aspect of this, some fictional characters should be ok.
I’d welcome the Norse-myth exception - I’d initially ruled it out because of the maximum-ten stats total proposal (it’d be silly to see Thor being beaten at something by Harold Lloyd), but that’s been self-killed now.
That’s three deferential votes. You’d have to make tough calls on Jesus’ stats anyway, Hix.
CoV - Despite wanting Rincewind on my side so I can defeat people with sarcasm, but I think it’ll make things more interesting.
Are we allowing currently living people? If not, no one could submit Jesus anyways (well, depending on what you believe).
COV—though i prefer researching the historical characters, there’s enough fiction in history anyway. plus, makes for some interesting mythic/historical characters.
