Momofuku Ando, a +10 Tinkerer owned by me, attempted to create a Device today. He earned 1 Device point.
Ando believes that he has created a Device called a “Parachute”. Ando believes that the Device adds +1 to the holder’s Moxie (but cannot increase Moxie above +10).
Well, the real issue is that the parachute is required for the hijack attempt of D. B. Cooper. I was hoping that the Einherjar would be recruited _first_, and then someone could make a parachute that didn’t really do much.
But if I give Ando the parachute first, then putting D. B. Cooper up for bid at a later time definitely feels like I’m being partial, since that action clearly favors one specific Valkyrie (even though everyone is allowed to bid on him).
If you like, you can put D.B. Cooper up for bid first before acting on the Device creation.
Or, you can have device simply be called “Parachute” and have no effect on statistics.
Or whatever.
I’m giving Ando that parachute now, with a compromise on the effect: +1 to Moxie, but only during a Skirmish. (Continuous +1 would be appropriate for a 1TP device, but the parachute has another potential use)

BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
