Call for Judgment: A Leader We Can Trust

Replace all instances of “Leader” in the rule “Ruleset Theft” and all of its subrules (if they exist) with “Editor”

The rule “Apocrypha” clearly states: Upon selecting such a rule, they may copy its text and add it as a new Dynastic Rule to the current Ruleset, replacing the terms for Emperor-analog and Player-analog with “Editor” and “Scribe” as appropriate.

Looking at ruleset https://wiki.blognomic.com/index.php?title=Ruleset_69, “Leader” was the Emperor-analog for that dynasty.

As such, Brendan should’ve replaced Leader with Editor when they added Ruleset Theft to the rules

against I did not feel it was “appropriate,” as a metadynasty does not have an emperor in the same sense that a normal dynasty does.

It would also be difficult to run this Dynasty with an idle player (Kevan) as Editor.

I take “as appropriate” in that circumstance to mean “replace the Emperor-analog with Editor and the Player analog with Scribe” not “replace the ones that the Editor feels are appropriate to replace”—its referring to the appropriate replacement, not a the replacement you feel is appropriate to make.

against I’m with Brendan, here.

Though, it wouldn’t be too hard to fix, otherwise, we’d simply have to hold an election.

for ; replacing Leader was appropriate per the parallel clause in that ruleset’s version of “Victory and Ascension”, so the Editor was obligated to perform that substitution.

I strongly suggest a fix to the Kevan issue by proposal before Elections ceases to be Provisional, though.

imperial I don’t really know, anymore, then. Abstaining while I think about it.

Also, I made a Proposal to do that.

It doesn’t matter that Elections is Provisional for the purposes of the Kevan clause, which does not directly cause anyone to achieve victory, modify voting, alter rules or contradict a non-Provisional rule (there is no rule saying that I hold my position; it’s gamestate, not ruleset). It simply makes an idle player Editor.

Or would, anyway, if this passed.

It contradicts 1.3 - “Each Dynasty may be headed by a single Scribe, known as the Editor.”  You were the Editor at the start of the Dynasty, and therefore there can’t be any other Editors for the rest of it.

for Yeah, okay, after some thought I think Bucky is right, with the bit about it being parallel.

Not that that uh. Matters, anymore.
