... and there’s no “private message” button on Bucky’s profile. You (and any other Clan Lords who intend to moderate duels) need to tick “Accept Private Messages sent to you by other members of this site” on your preferences page.

It is already ticked.  However, I do not have the option to actually read any private messages.
