[ Suggesting a possible victory condition. ]

Add a new Rule, “Acuity Points”:-

Whenever a non-Werewolf Villager is killed under Rule 2.3, the Mayor shall secretly award each of their killers an Acuity Point. Whenever a Werewolf is killed as the direct result of a Town Meeting (where “direct” is in the opinion of the Mayor), the Villager who called the meeting and all who voted in favour of it shall be secretly awarded an Acuity Point.

If all living Villagers are Werewolves, or all living Villagers are not Werewolves, then the Mayor may post a blog entry announcing this, and listing the Acuity Points of all living and dead Villagers. Following that post, the living Villager with the most Acuity Points, if there is one, may declare victory and assume the running of the village.

for Secret victory, nice.  Can we assume a full rundown of acuity scores after the DoV?

for Agreed with score rundown :)

This is reasonable, but I was kind of hoping that the “victory condition” would be more of a Mafia/Nomic blend:  Should the werewolves take control, for example, they can force their way to victory via a town meeting that only they are allowed to vote on.

The proposed method also only allows living Villagers to win, which I’m sure was intended, but is against the spirit of cooperation within a team.  For example, since I am not a werewolf, I hope above all else that the werewolves are not victorious, and will thus try to achieve that goal, even if it means my death.  Suppose I am the Night Watchman, and have been able to deduce with 100% certainty the identity of all the werewolves.  I would be willing to go public with the information to ensure their deaths by lynching, even if my own death was guaranteed.  But if doing so meant that I couldn’t win, then… I would not be so willing.

Also, even considering that werewolves are filthy scumbags who would resort to anything to get ahead, I don’t think it makes for extremely interesting gameplay to give the werewolves too much motivation to kill each other. against

against I agree with Hix here. Maybe there could be other ways to score actuary points, and the winner wouldn’t have to be living at the end.

against As Hix said about the living and the dead. Perhaps a bonus point for still being alive though? Also, if all living are werewolves, should not the werewolf with the highest score win, or vice versa?

The “living” condition was a quick way to ensure that the winner wouldn’t be on the side that lost; I realise now that it doesn’t cover brave sacrifices.

Originally I was just going to go with “when one side has wiped out the other, the survivors can just vote for who gets to win”, but that seemed too vague and boring. But maybe it’s not.

I’ll track Acuity Points (and the details of their achievement) anyway, out of curiosity.

Still needs some additional tweaking and we haven’t even spoken about the vampires or had some van helsing proposals

for COV—the town or the mayor could actually add acuity points posthumously to a hero.

and we can change the living/non-living thing later. even with werewolves about and lynching in the air, it’ll still be at least a couple of days before everyone’s dead.

I like a more Mafia-esque victory condition…

This is Mafia-esque, isn’t it? Except that we pick the most talented player from the winning side so that we’ve got someone to head up the next Dynasty, rather than just saying that the Werewolf or the non-Werewolf side wins.
