Mantle pass and dynasty discussion

The dice result was a 65.

I pass the mantle to lemonfanta. Good luck, Emperor!

Edit to add: lemon has said that she will take up to 30 hours to get her AA together, so please feel free to use this as a post-dynasty discussion thread

I dropped out of the dynasty largely because a sizable batch of proposals was proposed and passed during a brief absence. This seems to happen to at least one player per dynasty.

IRL issues also factored into the decision to idle out.

I’d like to hear the tale of the opposing cabal forming, from the other side.

In my and Clucky’s case it started as giving each other light information about our hands for betting purposes, then in game 19 trying to hustle people out of bets (which only worked for 1 peg), and kind of snowballed from there.

I was interested in working with lemon because she had gone from very recently joining to putting together solid proposals. Since mentorship meant she was already in communication with Josh, and since I had just lost to Josh and thereby benefited Clucky (who bet against me), it seemed like the way to squeeze maximum net profit from match fixing was with three people—winner, loser and bettor. So I messaged them both on the 29th and asked if they’d be up for running the hustle.

Clucky wasn’t entirely wrong that I was “up to something with the pegs,” but it was nothing with ruleset wording, just a guess that three people working together would be able to artificially inflate one of their scores. My message to the group on the morning of the 30th, before we’d actually started feeding inside info to each other:

“I’m thinking about a tweak to the current victory condition—the winner is the person with the most pegs, but if you win the crown match your pegs are doubled. so it’s not just the finalists who could have a lot riding on it, and even if you’re eliminated from the faceoff you COULD still win if you’ve amassed a big lead.

… or if you’ve done enough pooling. 😈”

yeah Pokes and I were only lightly cabaling (only slightly more than I did with Josh, mostly because I was in more games with Pokes) until the end when Josh tried to get me to vote for his proposal by telling me people were gonna stall out my games and so I had to pull out the matchup rigging scam (we also discussed doing it with Josh like the day before that but Josh told us he didn’t want to cabal then =P)
