A problem with the rules

Were I to go idle right now; then under the rules my six subsidiaries would remain my subsidiaries and quorum would drop to six. In other words, I would achieve victory despite not playing. Has this ever happened before? I know I technically wouldn’t win, because I need to be active to declare victory, but I would have still fulfilled all the victory conditions.

Anyways, if you want to win and you are not one of my subsidiaries, let me know and i’ll see if I can make it possible.

It’s probably happened any number of times, always by accident e.g. due to an uninitialized/zero GNDT stat.

If I had a good idea for a new dynasty, I would allow you to buy me out and I wouldn’t mind winning. Too bad I don’t have a really good idea.

Clucky:Is the issue that you can’t win or that you don’t want to win?

Please, pay attentionn to this snippet from the buy-out rule: “No Corporation may attempt to Buy Out another Corporation’s Subsidiary.”

I’m taking my subbies back, if you please.

Oh, that’s fun.

It seems inevitable that you’re going to get bought at some point, though.

You aren’t a Corporation while you’re idle. “For the purposes of the Ruleset, excluding Rules 1.1 and 1.2, Idle Corporations are not counted as Corporations.”

There would be some temporary junk data in the gamestate were Corporations were subsidiaries of meaningless text strings, though. Maybe we need a rule to explain the intricacies of player gamestate that refers directly to other players, when those players go idle (which doesn’t come up very often).

(Which is to say, you wouldn’t be a Corporation and so wouldn’t even meet the “if any Corporation has a Quorum of Corporations as Subsidiaries” condition.)

I need $6M. Just $6M cash or a myriad of other stuff. If only I hadn’t been so wasteful early on.
