Puppy triple kill

To explain what I’ve done with the auctions (this is a bootleg “combo post”, and purely informative for the rest of players.)

I want to get rid of my PuPs. Yeah, I know card made a CfJ which would allow me to get a refund which would be great but I don’t want to get free stuff (plus I strongly disagree with arbitrary free handouts/modifications via CfJs) so here is my proper disposal of them. Also, there is that rule that says “As a daily atomic action, a manager may intentionally cause personnel problems with a blogger they employ, by stating they are doing so and Rolling DICE10 in the GNT. (...)”, but it’s limited to a daily action and it has dice rolls which make it unreliable so fuck that lol. This will be a quicker and much more reliable way to get rid of them.

We have:

At any time, a Manager can create an Auction for a Blogger they employ with a Duration of their choice. That Blogger then does not count as employed by the auctioning Manager for the purposes of all rules.

The Duration I’ve chosen is 1 second
And then:

After the Auction has been posted for longer than the Auction’s Duration, the Auctioneer may close the auction by noting this in a comment. When the auction is closed, the Manager who had the valid bid with the highest value X that is at least 10% greater than the next highest valid bid on that post (or is the only valid bid on that post) spends X from their Cash to employ that Blogger, and if the Auction designates a Payee, the Payee gains X to their Cash. If there are no valid bids on this Auction when it is closed, no Manager employs that player and the player is not tracked on Blogger Roster.

I’ve closed the auction and there have been no valid bids, no now, “no Manager employs that player and the player is not tracked on Blogger Roster.”

R.I.P. Puppers 1, 2 and 3. I’m now free to employ bloggers again.

Proposal: No More Clones

Reaches quorum 7-1. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 01 May 2017 23:46:36 UTC

Under Gameplay, change “Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y.” to

Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y. Team A cannot be the same team as team B and vice versa.

(The Ruleset-changing half of card’s CfJ)

Story Post: card vs Cuddlebeam!

Using the once every 2 weeks provision, card plays a standard 13 round game against Cuddlebeam!

card’s power: 72 (13 + 9 + 10 + 1 [stick] + 14 [tree trunk w/ highest stat] + 18 [highest brains stat, adding it 3 times not twice] + 7 [highest balls])
Cuddlebeam’s power: 21 (7 * 3)

card wins 9 to 4!

Call for Judgment: Puppies

Times out 0-5. Failed by pokes.

Adminned at 02 May 2017 23:36:18 UTC

Since PuPs no longer exist, lets undo any existing PuPs.
The Admin enacting this ignores the 3 Bloggers per team rule during the enaction of this CfJ.
Do the following in order until no PuPs exist:
1 Reverse any training of PuPs done by their current Manager. i.e. if someone paid money to increase the stats of the PuPs, reduce the PuPs stats and increase the cash of the PuP’s Manager by the amount paid to train that PuP.
2 If the current Manager used the now revoked PuP rule to create a PuP, remove that PuP from the Blogger Roster and increase the cash of that PuP’s Manager by the amount they paid for that PuP.
3 Reverse any trades of PuPs by moving the PuP to the Manager who sold it. Reduce the selling Manager’s cash by the amount sold for and increase the buying Manager’s cash by the amount the PuP sold for.
4 If any PuPs exist, return to step 1.

Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y. Team A cannot be the same team as team B and vice versa.

When this CfJ is enacted if during the time this proposal was pending a team has played any games against themselves, reduce that Manager’s cash by the amount they earned by playing games against themselves.
If there are a quorum of valid FOR votes (not including the author’s vote) that contain “reduce beam”, also reduce Cuddlebeam’s cash by the amount they earned for playing their first game against themselves and reduce Cuddlebeam’s games played by 1.

Proposal: Conference Stadiums & Cheerleading.

Timed out 5-1. Failed by card.

Adminned at 01 May 2017 15:16:42 UTC

Add to “Conferences”:

Each Conference has a Stadium, and when matches are played between two members of the same Conference, the match happens at that Conference’s Stadium.

Each Stadium has a Cheerleading Squad. Any Manager may pay $30,000 to change the their Conference’s Stadium’s Cheerleading Squad to another. All numerical effects Cheerleading Squads grant are split among the amount of Stadiums they’ve been assigned (For example, a Squad can provide up to a bonus of +4, and they’ve been assigned two Stadiums, they grant +2 instead). The Stadium’s Cheerleading Squads are tracked in the Blogger Roster, in its own special section.

The Squads available are the following:

- Stadium Mascots: Teams whose manager have an Image (an Image which isn’t “none”), gain +10 Power.
- Roman Slavewhippers: All revenue gained from the match is increased by 10%
- Hot Girls in Skimpy Clothing: Bloggers who go skimpy as well and play with no Tools gain +5 Power
- Daniel the Drum Guy: No effect whatsoever.
- Manly Policesquad of Manly Poses and Manliness: Remove all effects of PEDs and Roids from the Match and all Roids and PEDs of the match’s participants are set to zero.
- Manly Juicesquad of Manly Poses and Manliness: Double the Power bonus granted by Roids.
- Naughty Politicians: Right after the match, some new tax reform comes up, so all of the Bloggers which have played that match lose their Tools (the Tools are removed from play).

Change the list of hyphens there to bullets. Set each Stadium’s Cheerleading Squad to “Daniel the Drum Guy”

Giving conferences more meaning

Proposal: Manager STEPS IN

Timed out 5-0. Enacted by card.

Adminned at 01 May 2017 15:14:43 UTC

Add to “Managers”:

Managers can take on the field themselves instead of a Blogger they’re employing for a match, if they make a comment in the GNDT stating such before that match (between 24 hours and 1 hour before the match). Managers play with a level equal to 10, stats equal to 5, and a bonus of +6 to their image stat (or +2 to all stats if their image is “none”). For that match, the manager can use a single Tool that they own that isn’t being held by another Blogger. During that Match, the Manager is also a Blogger.

Feels WWE and I LIKE IT. Also crazy stuff could happen from binding “Managers” to “Blogger” rules.

Risky instawin but I’m going for it because the cash cost to do it is cheap. Let’s go:

This Overseeing is an atomic action consisting of the following steps:

This Overseeing is an atomic action consisting of the following steps:
-Calculating the Power of each team. Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y.
-Choosing an odd number of rounds for the game between 5 and 25. Traditionally, this is 13.
-Rolling a DICE(X+Y), once for each round. The commissioner does not need to roll this in the GNDT. For a given die, if it is less than or equal to X, team A scores a point. Otherwise, team B scores a point. The team that scores more points during the game wins the game.
-Making a post containing the results of the game.

Since I’ve scored more points during the game, I’ve won the game.

Victory is mine.

Cuddlebeam versus Cuddlebeam

In an awe-inspiring match, Cuddlebeam’s 3 PuP’s have valiantly played against Cuddlebeam’s 3 PuP’s

The crowd goes wiiiild!

As per the GNDT rolls of a team of 30 Power against another of 30 Power: (DICE60:60 ,  DICE60:43 ,  DICE60:28 ,  DICE60:40 ,  DICE60:7 )

The result has been: 3-2, in a match which was 5 rounds long.

I have employed this rule:

As an action that may be taken at most once every two weeks, a manager may oversee a Bloggsball game between their team and a team of their choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B, if both teams are full.

To play a match between my team and a team of my choice, and the team I’ve chosen for that is my own team.

Bloggsball has a long tradition of picking up bloggers from off the street when a team is thin. At any time a manager who has sufficient cash and team slots may hire a special kind of Blogger called a “PuP” (in stands for “Pick up Player”), by paying $10,000. All PuPs have stats of 3 and a level of 7, their favorite fruit is always watermelon, and their name is always “PuP”, unless they are named by the Commissioner. A PuP who has not been named, who would be auctioned is instead not auctioned.

At any time, a manager who owns a “PuP” whose stats are not 3 and whose level is not 7, may request that the player is named by the Commissioner. The Commissioner shall do so in a timely manner.

from the current rules page.

Proposal: Let’s Get Playing

Self Killed. Failed by card.

Adminned at 29 Apr 2017 23:49:05 UTC

For each Manager with a positive non-zero starting cash value do the following:

Assign them a random image of Brains, Balls or Brawn, rolled in the GNDT.
For Managers that have less than two Bloggers, create new Bloggers for them as if they were created for an auction and add them to the Blogger Roster until they have two Bloggers.
Then for Managers that have two Bloggers, create a new Blogger for them and then set the their level to X. X is equal to either the sum of X and the levels of the other two Bloggers equaling 45 or 18, whichever is lower.

If we spend all of our time bidding, we’ll have no games to play. Note that the Bloggers are not added via an auction, so their level won’t change when added.
P.S. This guarantees that people who had some bad blogger rolls gets a level 18. And they can also bid on current autions or level up as some people are trying to add in the game.

Proposal: Limited Training

Timed out 1-4. Failed by card.

Adminned at 29 Apr 2017 23:48:09 UTC

Replace training section with:

As an action up to three times per day, once per each blogger on the manager’s team, a manager may perform the training action.

Training is an Atomic Action consisting of:

Paying $100,000

Declaring a primary and secondary stat (including a player’s level)

Rolling 1 DICE6 in the GNDT.
If the result is 1, decreasing both the primary and secondary stats by 1.
If the result is 2 or 3, doing nothing.
If the result is 4, increasing the primary stat by 1.
If the result is 5, increasing both the primary and secondary stats by 1.

Proposal: Blogger’s Need Money Too

6-1. Failed by card.

Adminned at 28 Apr 2017 23:04:37 UTC

Add in a new section called Wages:

After every Blogsball game each manager involved in the game must pay wages to their Bloggers.
Wages are calculated as follows for each Blogger:
$500 x Blogger’s level during the match, plus an additional $2000 for each of the Blogger’s stats that is 8 or greater.
The wages must be subtracted from the manager’s cash. The money earned by the blogger need not be tracked.

It isn’t just the managers that are in this for the money, and even the lowliest PuP expects to be paid to put his nose in front of some other blogger’s stick.

I thought this would provide a little balance against bigger and better bloggers always being good.

Call for Judgment: Fix If Crumb Loses PuPs

Reached quorum 8-0. Enacted by card.

Adminned at 27 Apr 2017 19:56:03 UTC

This judgement should have these effects if the CfJ “Random numbers change by Default” is also passed:

Set Crumb’s Image back to None
Restore $2,400 to Crumb

This undoes the effect of acquiring the high powered PuPs provided by Publius Scribonius Scholasticus and also the PEDs I bought for those Bloggers. I think you should vote for this one if you voted for Derrick’s CfJ.

Proposal: Lobbyist

Lobbyists have an extra vote on all matters (denoted by an extra valid voting icon). Lobbyists may only submit proposals once per week

An option to opt for trading proposal power for voting power. I have no idea if this has been done before, but it seems very interesting to me, as a way to play which is new but still familiar.

Proposal: Most Bloggers Play With Just A Stick

Timed out 1-0. Enacted by card.
Maybe people should vote more often if proposals are just going to time out with simply the author’s vote passing it.

Adminned at 28 Apr 2017 05:43:49 UTC

Add to “Bloggers”

Each Blogger has a “Blogging Average” tracked on the Blogger Roster, which is a measure of their accuracy at hitting things with a tool. Blogging Averages are two digit decimal numbers which range from 0.00 to 0.99. After playing a game in which they use a Stick and are not drugged, a Blogger adds half of their Blogging Average rounded to two decimal places to their Level.

In Gameplay change “A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s players.” to

A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s Bloggers rounded down.

In Recruitment change “Their Level is determined by the sum of 3 DICE6 rolled in the GNDT. Each stat is determined by 2 DICE4, +2 rolled in the GNDT (each stat receives its own roll).” to

Their Level is determined by the sum of 3 DICE6 rolled in the GNDT. Each stat is determined by 2 DICE4, +2 rolled in the GNDT (each stat receives its own roll) The Blogging Average is determined by (DICE100 - 1) * 0.01

Then for each existing Blogger roll their Blogging Average

A play on batting averages

Proposal: Combo: A Rebirth

Timed out 6-0. Enacted by card.

Adminned at 28 Apr 2017 05:39:45 UTC

Add a new rule “Combos”

Anytime that an organ wants to do 5 or more actions within an hour they may choose in leui of doing all of those actions separately, which potentially causes confusion as to what is happening, to make a “Combo” blog post that cannot be edited after posting. The gamestate may be changed to reflect the results of the Combo once all of the actions are completed.

A Combo post is a numbered list of the actions taken, the first action is #1 each subsequent number of actions is increased by one. Each action and the portion of the gamestate changed from that action are kept on their own line. An Atomic action has lettering of it’s steps, refer to the example and note the curly braces vs the parenthesis.

Example Combo
1 [action one] ([gamestate before action] -> [gamestate after action])
2 [action two] ([gamestate before action] -> [gamestate after action])
3 [atomic action] {[gamestate before atomic action]}
3a [first atomic substep] ([gamestate before substep] -> [gamestate after substep])
3b [second atomic substep] ([gamestate before substep] -> [gamestate after substep]) {[gamestate after atomic action]}
4 [action four] ([gamestate before action] -> [gamestate after action])
etcetera . . .

If any actions require a die roll or other random event that is visible to the public, Managers must make those rolls before posting the combo with a note stating which step the roll is for and what action they are taking and the title of their Combo. Managers may not make multiple rolls in the GNDT for the same step. Managers cannot have two or more rolls in the GNDT with Combo titles that are different unless all but one of the Combo titles have been posted and include that roll.

Each action of a Combo happens in their own second, substeps of an Atomic Action happen all at the same second as the parent step. The first action happens at the time the Combo is posted.

So don’t make a Combo with 60 steps and then edit the gamestate right after posting.

Proposal: Training Fix

Timed out 1-3. Failed by card.

Adminned at 27 Apr 2017 23:23:04 UTC

2. Declaring a primary and secondary stat (including a player’s level)
3. Rolling 1 DICE6 in the GNDT.
4. If the result is 1, decreasing both the primary and secondary stats by 1.

Call for Judgment: Random numbers change by Default

Quorum 7-0. Enacted by card.

Remove the two PuP’s with highly boosted stats from Crumb’s roster, and from play.
Restore $1,000,000 to Crumb’s Cash
Restore   $188,000 to Publius Scribonius Scholasticus’s Cash (9778988- 9590988)
Restore $20,000 to Publius Scribonius Scholasticus’s Cash (The Amount of the two Pup’s)
Remove $1,000,000 from Publius Scribonius Scholasticus’s Cash.

This undoes a frankly rediculous reading of the rules where a single dice roll can be left at its original number and used as that result for a large number of moves, which it being specified in the rules. The roll in question is particuarly abusive, as its a 5 on a d100: 10 times better than the average.

I am completely removing the Pup’s from play because it makes cleanup easier: instead of modifying bloggers in complex ways that could be abused, all costs are refunded.

Training Fix

Amend “Training” to read:

As an action (without limitation of time), any manager may train a player. Training is an Atomic Action consisting of
1. Spending $(DICE100*1,000) or $75,000. (One must decide which without first rolling the D100)
2. Declaring a primary and secondary stat (including a player’s level)
3. Rolling 1 DICE6 in the GNDT.
4. If the result is 1, decreasing both the primary and secondary stats by 1.
If the result is 2 or 3, doing nothing.
If the result is 4, increasing the primary stat by 1.
If the result is 5, increasing both the primary and secondary stats by 1.
If the result is 6, increasing the primary stat by 2 and the secondary stat by 1.

This plugs my hole and offers a more expensive, but time-saving alternative.

Proposal: Reimaging

Timed out 6-1. Enacted by card.

Adminned at 27 Apr 2017 17:17:09 UTC

Whenever a Manager acquires a Blogger whose highest stat isn’t that of their Image, that Blogger loses one Level. Whenever a Manager acquires a Blogger whose highest stat is that of their Image, that Blogger gains one Level.

with:

A Blogger’s dominant stat is their highest stat; on ties, Brains has the highest precedence, followed by Balls, then Brawn.

Whenever a Manager acquires a Blogger whose dominant stat isn’t that of their Image, that Blogger loses one Level. Change Managers’ images and their Bloggers’ levels to what they would be if this new rule text had been active, instead of the existing rule, since the addition of the “Managers” rule to the ruleset.

I unfortunately messed up the acquisition process, ignoring this rule. I’d go back and fix it, but I’d like a deterministic process, since if it causes any issues, arguing about how to do it right amongst possible rerolling would be a catastrophe.

Adminned at 26 Apr 2017 14:24:33 UTC

Add to “Conferences”:

Each Conference has a supply of 20 Support, which is split equally among the members of their Conference. The amount of Support each Conference is granting to their Conference members is tracked at the Blogger Roster, in its own subsection, in the format of:

“West: A East: B North: C South: D”

Where A, B, C and D are equal to the amount of Support that Conference is granting (20 divided by the amount of conference members)

During a match, Teams gain extra Power equal to the Support of their Manager.

Favoring splitting because right now there isn’t much of a reason to ever leave East Conference.

Proposal: Starting Sticks

Add to the rule “Bloggers”

A manager who has not done so this dynasty may aquire the following tools:

One Stick
One randomly determined (by the GNDT) Towel, Fresh Trout, or Bigger Stick.
One of the tools not mentioned above, randomly determined (by the GNDT).
One more tool, determined by rolling DICE6 in the GNDT: 1-3 gives a stick, 4 a towel, 5 a fresh trout, and 6 a bigger stick.

By my count we currently have 17 “crazy tools”.

Proposal: More than Just Skill

7 to 1 after 48 hours. enacted by derrick.

Add a rule named “Team Power”

A team’s power against another team is calculated like this:
Sum the level of the team’s bloggers.
If you have a blogger with the highest brains (including ties), add their brains stat. If you have two, only add the stat once.
If you have a blogger with the highest (including ties) brawn, add their brawn stat. If you have two, only add the stat once.
If you have a blogger with the highest balls (including ties), add their balls stat. If you have two, only add the stat once.

In the rule “Gameplay”, replace

“Calculating the Power of each team. A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s players. Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y.”

With:

Calculating the Power of each team. Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y

Lets make these stats do something.

yes, if two players have bloggers with tied stats, they both get a bonus. This makes the game closer, and is intentional.

Proposal: More Game, No More Work, This Time with Fairness

Times out 3-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 26 Apr 2017 10:24:45 UTC

Replace “Gameplay” with:

As a daily action, the Commissioner may oversee a Bloggsball game between two Full Teams of the Commissioner’s choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B.
As a biweekly (once every two weeks), a manager may oversee a Bloggsball game between their team and a team of their choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B.
As an action (may be taken as often as one likes), a manager (whose Full Team is henceforth referred to as team A) may challenge (in a public posting to the Blog) a Full Team of their choice, henceforth referred to as team B. If the manager of team B accepts the challenge (in a comment on the first post), the manager of team B SHALL oversee a Bloggsball game between teams A and B. No two players may play more than five games with each other under this provision per week. No individual team may play more games than the number of Managers in any given week.

This Overseeing is an atomic action consisting of the following steps:

* Calculating the Power of each team. A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s players. Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y.
* Choosing an odd number of rounds for the game between 5 and 25. Traditionally, this is 13.
* Rolling a DICE(X+Y), not necessarily in the GNDT, once for each round. For a given die, if it is less than or equal to X, team A scores a point. Otherwise, team B scores a point. The team that scores more points during the game wins the game.
* Making a post containing the results of the game.

The number of games a manager’s team has played is tracked in the GNDT.

A Manager whose team has played three more games than any other manager may not have their team play in a blogsball game.

This is More Games, No More Work with an added game cap.

Proposal: Taxes

Self-killed. Failed by pokes.

Adminned at 26 Apr 2017 10:22:30 UTC

Make a section called “Government”. Within it, add:

Managers have “Value”, which is the total sum of all of their cash, plus the highest bid (or highest purchase price, whichever exists and/or is higher) that all of their other belongings have received. (For example, a Manager with 100 Cash and a Blogger that was acquired from its only auction for 250 cash will have a value of 350). Value is tracked in the GNDT.

Each Monday at 00:01, the Government claims Taxes. Anyone (preferably the Commissioner) should post a Story Post with the outcome of this mechanic (i.e. who lost cash and how much).

When the Government claims Taxes, the manager with the most value loses cash equal to 30% of their value, the manager with the second most value loses cash equal to 20% of their value, and the manager with the most third value loses cash equal to 10% of their value,. If there are ties, all of the tied managers lose the corresponding amount of cash.

Change “Managers may not have negative cash or take any action that would cause them to have negative cash.” which is within “Trading”, to:

Managers may not take any action that would cause them to immediately have negative cash.

I’m very interested in “tax evasion” schemes/puzzles, plus this will prevent people from just mindlessly hoarding cash/assets.

Merchandising, This Time without the Swing

Create a new rule, “Merchandising”:

Managers and the Commissioner may have a merchandising deal for any of their Bloggers.  A Blogger may only have up to two merchandising deal at a time, which are tracked on the Blogger Roster page. Deals are made in a Story Post (the Merch) in which the manager describes the various things that their Blogger might be shown in, such as bobbleheads, hats, dog food and what brand they represent.

Each time a Blogger plays a game or once a week, whichever is more often, then their Manager adds cash equal to that Blogger’s Merch Index into their cash. A Blogger’s Merch Index is defined as (k/7*x*n!)1,000, where k is defined as the number of days since the deal was made, x is defined as the number of games won by the player and n is the number of wins the player has had in a row.

Proposal: Going Once

7 to 1 at 48 hours. Enacted by derrick.

Adminned at 25 Apr 2017 23:44:51 UTC

Create a new rule, “Auctions”:

An Auction is a post auctioning off the employment of a Blogger. To create an Auction, a Manager, henceforth referred to as the Auctioneer, creates a story post containing the identity of the Blogger being auctioned and the Duration of the auction. Managers may not create Auctions except where specified elsewhere in the Ruleset.

Any comment on an Auction that contains the string “I bid $X” or “I bid £X” is a valid bid of value X if X is an unambiguous positive integer. Any of the following conditions being met makes a bid invalid:

* The bidding Manager already employing three Bloggers.
* The bidding Manager having less Cash than the value of the bid.
* The bidding Manager becoming idle or otherwise not a Manager.
* A previous bid on this post was made for a higher amount.

In “Recruitment”, replace the paragraphs from “At any time, the Commissioner…” to “...and the player is not tracked on Blogger Roster.” with:

At any time, the Commissioner may create a new unemployed Blogger, determining their Name, Favorite Fruit, Country, and Bio. Their Level is determined by the sum of 3 DICE6 rolled in the GNDT. Each stat is determined by 2 DICE4, +2 rolled in the GNDT (each stat receives its own roll). That Commissioner then creates an Auction with that Blogger’s information; this Auction has no Payee and a duration of 48 hours.

In “Trading”, replace the text from “As an action (without limitation of time), a manager may put a bloggsball player (from their team) up for auction.” to “...added to the cash of the Manager (of the team on which the player currently plays).” with:

At any time, a Manager can create an Auction for a Blogger they employ with a Duration of their choice. That Blogger then does not count as employed by the auctioning Manager for the purposes of all rules. The Payee of the Auction is the Manager who created it.

We now have two almost-identical auction implementations. This combines them, and as a bonus unclutters the “Recruitment” rule.

Story Post: Seventh Player Auction: Ignacio

Level: 13; Brains 8 Brawn 4 Balls 8

Proposal: Named PuPs

5 to 1 after 48 hours. Enacted by Derrick.

Adminned at 25 Apr 2017 13:19:33 UTC

Amend the final paragraph of “Recruitment” to read:

Bloggsball has a long tradition of picking up bloggers from off the street when a team is thin. At any time a manager who has sufficient cash and team slots may hire a special kind of Blogger called a “PuP” (in stands for “Pick up Player”), by paying $10,000. All PuPs have stats of 3 and a level of 7, their favorite fruit is always watermelon, and their name is always “PuP”, unless they are named by the Commissioner. A PuP who has not been named, who would be auctioned is instead not auctioned.

Append to “Recruitment”:

At any time, a manager who owns a “PuP” whose stats are not 3 and whose level is not 7, may request that the player is named by the Commissioner. The Commissioner shall do so in a timely manner.

This should allow the selling of PuPs.

Proposal: Premade Rules

Self Killed. Failed by Derrick

Adminned at 24 Apr 2017 13:22:58 UTC

Add to the Core Rules a section called “Premade Rules” in the Appendix. Within it, add:

These Premade Rules are useful add-ons that can be optionally included into a game. A Premade Rule is Active or Inactive, and that quality is tracked in the bulleted list below, titled “Premade Rule Status Tracker”. An Inactive Premade Rule has no effect. Each Premade Rule exists under their own Subsection within the “Premade Rules” section.

Premade Rule Status Tracker
-Atomic Actions: Active
-Dormancy: Inactive

Change the hyphens there to bullets.

Move “Atomic Actions” to “Premade Rules” as a subsection, then add the following as another subsection with the header “Dormancy”.

If there are fewer than five Managers, then BlogNomic is Dormant. While BlogNomic is Dormant, actions defined by dynastic rules may not be taken, and proposals may not be submitted.

Proposal: Thriller night

Timed out 2-5. Failed by card.

Adminned at 24 Apr 2017 04:13:54 UTC

Add to “Bloggers”:

Bloggers have a favorite fruit, which at creation, is determined by a FRUIT roll in the GNDT. Bloggers whose favorite fruit is a Tangelo are from Zahndorf and are Werewolves.

The favorite fruit of the current Bloggers is whatever Pokes has determined them to be when they created them.

Got to fix that there are no werewolves in Zahndorf yet.

Proposal: Debt

7-0. Enacted by card

Adminned at 24 Apr 2017 04:12:59 UTC

Add to the “Bankroll” rule:

Cash may be positive, negative, or zero.  If a Manager’s cash is ever below zero, they must pay interest by deducting a value equal to that Manager’s cash * -0.1 rounded up from their cash every day.  If a Manager has cash below zero, and 48 hours has passed since they last paid interest in this manner, or since their cash first became negative if they have never paid interest, they lose all Bloggers, tools, and PEDs that they have.  Managers with cash less than zero may not spend cash for any reason other than paying interest.

If Cuddlebeam wants to go into debt, who are we to deny them?

Proposal: Re-roll

Reaches quorum 7-0. The quorum vote must have been the lucky one: Maldor’s Yves got the biggest boost. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 23 Apr 2017 23:10:20 UTC

For each of Yves Chienroi, Colette Boulette, Emil Schneider, and Ralf Schneider, set each of their Brains, Brawn, and Balls to 2 DICE4 + 2. (With separate rolls for each of the 12 combinations.)

Proposal: Glossary expansion

Times out 1-5. Failed by pokes.

Adminned at 23 Apr 2017 21:39:22 UTC

Add under the Dynastic “Glossary”

All definitions in this glossary must use the media wiki definition formatting (;[term]: [definition])
;Auction: An auction post allows for the bidding of a Manager’s cash. An auction is open for a determined amount of time and when it is closed the Manager with the highest valid bid is the winner. That manager spends the amount on that bid and gets whatever was offered on the auction in return.
;Manager receives $X: X is added to that Manager’s cash.
;Manager A pays Manager B $X: Manager A spends $X and Manager B receives $X.
;Action: something that can be performed any number of times in a day.
;Bid: a comment on an auction in the form of “I bid $X” where X is an unambiguous positive integer.

Then change “*Any action that “spends” X or “buys [something] for X” deducts X from acting Manager’s Cash.” to

;spends $X: deducts X from acting Manager’s Cash
;buys [something] for $X: deducts X from acting Manager’s Cash

Then remove all definitions of terms defined in the dynastic glossary that are not in the dynastic glossary: there doesn’t need to be 3 definitions of bid that are all exactly the same.

Proposal: Training and Trading

Reaches quorum 7-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 23 Apr 2017 21:38:32 UTC

Enact the following rule “Training”:

As an action (without limitation of time), any manager may spend $(DICE100*1,000) to train a player. Training is an Atomic Action consisting of

1. Declaring a primary and secondary stat (including a player’s level)
2. Rolling 1 DICE6 in the GNDT.

Enact the following rule “Trading”:

Managers may not have negative cash or take any action that would cause them to have negative cash. As an action (without limitation of time), a manager may trade a bloggsball player (from their team) with a bloggsball player (from another team), with the approval of the other manager. The managers may also pay each other money in this transaction. A payment consists of decreasing the cash of one manager by a certain amount, then increasing the cash of the receiving manager by an equal amount.

As an action (without limitation of time), a manager may put a bloggsball player (from their team) up for auction. The auction duration may be of any length they choose and need not be stated in advance. The auction is begun by the manager posting a story post including at least the player’s name and stats. An auction may not be ended without selling the player. Players put up for auction do not count as one of a Manager’s three Bloggers for the purposes of all rules.

Any comment on an Auction that contains the string “I bid $X” or “I bid £X” is a valid bid of value X if X is an unambiguous positive integer and the commenting Manager employs fewer than three Bloggers. After the Auction has been posted for more than 48 hours, the Manager (of the team on which the player currently plays) may close the auction by noting this in a comment. When the auction is closed, the Manager who had the valid bid with the highest value X spends X from their Cash to employ that Blogger, breaking ties toward the first bidder. The amount X spent is added to the cash of the Manager (of the team on which the player currently plays).

As an action (without limitation of time), a manager may offer any other manager a sum of money for another player. If the other manager accepts, the player is moved to the team of the first manager and the sum of money is paid by the first manager to the second manager.

I copied text from “Recruitment” to allow for an equivalent process.

Call for Judgment: Bidding Disaster

Reaches quorum 7-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 22 Apr 2017 00:41:40 UTC

I made a bid that halted the auction for a Blogger because it was more than I had. Let’s fix that.
For any auctions that are open if the current highest bid is from a manager that is bidding more than their cash that bid is considered invalid and the second highest valid bid is now considered the bid. Repeat this process until there is a valid bid on each auction. If at the time that this CfJ passes any auctions would be closed due to having a valid bid, they instead stay open 12 hours after this CjF passed.

Enact the proposal “Lord, bless these Managers’ hearts” as if it is the oldest pending proposal.

Proposal: More Games, No More Work

Timed out 0-5. Failed by card.

Adminned at 23 Apr 2017 06:23:33 UTC

Replace “Gameplay” with:

As a daily action, the Commissioner may oversee a Bloggsball game between two Full Teams of the Commissioner’s choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B.
As a biweekly (once every two weeks), a manager may oversee a Bloggsball game between their team and a team of their choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B.

This should resolve the major previous issue.

Proposal: Fixed minimum bid increment

Timed out 6-0. Enacted by card

Adminned at 23 Apr 2017 06:18:22 UTC

If the proposal “Bid Increment” passed, remove this text in the “Recruitment” rule:

The minimum bid increment (MBI) for auctions is 10% of the current highest bid, or $1, whichever is higher. Bids must increment by at least the MBI.

Replace the following sentence in the “Recruitment” rule

When the auction is closed, the Manager who had the valid bid with the highest value X spends X from their Cash to employ that Blogger, breaking ties toward the first bidder. If there are no valid bids when the auction is closed, no Manager employs that player and the player is not tracked on Blogger Roster.

with

When the auction is closed, the Manager who had the valid bid with the highest value X that is at least 10% greater than the next highest valid bid on that post (or is the only valid bid on that post) spends X from their Cash to employ that Blogger. If there are no valid bids when the auction is closed, no Manager employs that player and the player is not tracked on Blogger Roster.

Replace the following sentence in the “Recruitment” rule

Any comment on an Auction that contains the string “I bid $X” or “I bid £X” is a valid bid of value X if X is an unambiguous positive integer and the commenting Manager employs fewer than three Bloggers.

with

Any comment on an Auction that contains the string “I bid $X” or “I bid £X” is a valid bid of value X if X is an unambiguous positive integer that is greater than all current valid bids on that post and the commenting Manager employs fewer than three Bloggers.

If the proposal “Lord, bless these Managers’ hearts” passed, add the following to the list of things that make a bid invalid:

- A previous bid on this post was made for a higher amount.

Makes it more clear what happens if someone disobeys the minimum bid increment - their bid simply cannot win, though it still counts as a valid bid for the purposes of calculating minimum bid increment.  Also, this explicitly disallows underbidding to steal a bid: if one person bids $100, and then another person bids $115, a third person could come along and bid $111, causing the $115 bid to fail to meet minimum bid increment and become invalid even though $111 is lower than $115.  With the second part of this proposal, the $111 bid would simply not be a valid bid, either for deciding the winner or for calculating minimum bid increment.

Now fixed to be compatible with pokes’s proposal.

Proposal: More Tools

Times out 6-1. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 22 Apr 2017 21:55:19 UTC

Add a new rule “Levels and Stats” with the following text

Levels and Stats are decimal numbers.

Add to the list of tools under “Bloggers” the following

*La Cross Stick: A Blogger using this confuses any opposing Bloggers who don’t have a La Cross stick, making them perform as if they had X extra levels, where X is 3 - the number of La Cross Sticks the opposing team has, when equipped.
*Hockey Stick: A Blogger with this stick is more likely to get into fights with other Bloggers and ‘accidentally’ hurting people with it’s sharp edge. A Blogger equipped with this has +2 Balls and +1 Brawn but -3 Brains.
*Rubik’s Cube: A Blogger with this puzzle on the field becomes more analytic but not very strong. A blogger equipped with this has +2 Brains and +1 Balls but -3 Brawn.
*Dumbbells: A Blogger multitasking their weightlifting schedule becomes stronger on the field but not very Ballsy and has +2 Brawn +1 Brains but -3 Balls.
*Bat: While the Animal Protection services are still looking into the legality of using bats as a device for hitting balls and other Bloggers, the game goes on. If a Blogger’s team won the game last match and they had the Bat equipped during it, they steal one level from a random Blogger on the team that lost.
*Training Equipment: These cumbersome weighted gear and stick helps the Blogger train. For each game played with Training Equipment on the Blogger gains half a level. While equipped the Blogger plays with a level of 5.
*Counterfeit Ball & Stick: While this is an illegal play, it certainly will win games if you’re not caught. A Blogger with a counterfeit ball plays with 10 extra levels. After a game there is 45% chance that the Umpire saw the cheating, if that happens the following happens: the team automatically loses (this can result in a double loss if two teams are found out), the Blogger is disqualified from Blogsball and removed from the Blogger Roster page and the Manager of that Blogger is fined $100,000.
*Golf Clubs & Caddy: In the rules the Caddy is not allowed to influence the ball, he can only help switch to the appropriate club. A Blogger equipped with Golf Clubs & Caddy is slowed down a lot to switch to the appropriate club, but when they do hit it’s much more skilled than other sticks, they have one less level but get +1 to each stat.
*Tree Trunk: This massive stick can only be wielded by giants with 9 or more Brawn. When equipped the Blogger has +5 Brawn.
*Principia de Mathematica: Learning the fundamentals of calculus straight from Newton needs Brains 9 or higher to utilize while playing a Bloggsball match. When equipped the Blogger has +5 Brains.
*3 Flaming Chainsaws: It takes a lot of Balls (and dexterity) to juggle 3 Flaming Chainsaws during a match, 9 or more to be precise. When equipped the Blogger has +5 Balls.
*Demonic Pentagram: A Blogger with a pentagram gains unholy power. A Blogger with this equipped has +X levels where X is 4 - the number of Bloggers on the opposing team with a Holy Cross equipped. A Blogger that has had a Demonic Pentagram equipped cannot ever equip a Holy Cross. The blood ritual that allows the Demonic Pentagram to be unequipped costs the Blogger 1 level. Every two Bloggsball games a Blogger with this equipped must do a sacrifice which results in their level being reduced by 0.5.
*Holy Cross: A Blogger with a holy cross gains divine luck and power during a game. If a roll that pertains to a Blogger equipped with a Holy Cross happens, the Manager rolls twice and gets to choose which one happens, if it is a private roll (such as a roll the Commissioner would normally do) instead the most optimal result is chosen from two rolls; for example if a roll for checking PEDs happens on a Blogger with the Holy Cross the result that involves not being found out is chosen if available.
*Garlic: This powerful charm will give a Blogger +0.5 level and +0.5 Brains and if that Blogger is chosen for the effects of Bat, they instead steal a level from the player.
*Self-help Book: This book has the potential to change people’s lives for the better. Bloggers who have it equipped perform as if they have 4 extra levels but 0 for any of their stats.
*How To Book: This book improves a Blogger’s skills. A Blogger with this equipped does not have their level added for the purposes of calculating whether a game is won. A Blogger with this equipped performs as if their level was added to each of their stats.
*Team Logo: This unweildy plastic cutout allows a Blogger to perform with +0.5 to their Level, +2 to their image stat and -0.5 to their non-image stats.

I don’t think there is anything too unbalanced, however if you feel there is only one or two things unbalanced then don’t feel like you should vote against, since we won’t be seeing any games played a while. I also am not sure how tools work exactly, if a manager can only equip what they have tracked in the GNTD or otherwise. I, or someone else, could fix the tools later (since I have to leave right after making this) based upon suggestions below.

As a daily atomic action, a manager may intentional cause personnel problems with a blogger they employ, by stating they are doing so and Rolling DICE10 in the GNT.

On a 6 or better: The blogger leaves in a huff. The manager must put up a story post (the auction) auctioning off that blogger. The post must indicate clearly which blogger is being auctioned.
On a 5 or less: The manager must pay (blogger level -10) *1000$, with a minimum of 0, to the blogger, because the team owner thinks they need to keep him.

Beter Zuber’s Stick: A very convincing replica of a legendary Stick wielded by a certain hero. The Blogger who wields it can perform as if they had the stats of another Blogger (of the Manager’s choice).

Grant a Beter Zuber’s Stick to the Manager who has included into a comment on this proposal the highest value of X, where X has been included into a string of the form “I bid X to this item”, X is equal to or higher than Y*1.1; where Y is the second-highest value of a submitted X, X is a non-negative integer and X is an amount equal or lower than the amount of Cash they currently have. Remove X Cash from that Manager as well.

Bootleg auction for a bootleg item with bootlegging powers, let’s go!

Proposal: Bid Increment

Self-killed—arthexis

Adminned at 21 Apr 2017 13:05:19 UTC

Add to “Recruitment”

The minimum bid increment (MBI) for auctions is 10% of the current highest bid, or $1, whichever is higher. Bids must increment by at least the MBI.

Otherwise the auction minigame kind of devolves into “who is the most active when the auction is about to end” to add that teensy $1 more lol.

Remove the following from the rule “Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED)”:

Managers can spend a certain amount of PEDs on a Blogger for a certain Match if they privately communicate to the Commissioner this fact beforehand and remove that amount of PEDs from their inventory. Then, for that match, the Commissioner privately rolls a 1d10 per each PED used, and applies one of the following results according to the result rolled:

1: The Blogger dies, and is removed from the game permanently
  2,3 or 4: Nothing happens.
5, 6, 7, 8 or 9: Double the Blogger’s level and stats for that match
10: Triple the Blogger’s stats for the match, but immediately after the match, the Blogger’s stats and level are all set to a value of 1.

We don’t need two different ways to use PEDs, particularly when one of them can’t be used since we can’t accurately predict when pokes is going to choose to oversee a game.  Admins note, I’m still an underdog.

Call for Judgment: Player disparity

Less than Quorum not voting against. 1 to 7. Failed by Derrick.

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 19:33:20 UTC

Their is currently a problem with rules and the feelings towards the bloggers. Currently we are trying to solve problems that might not need to solved. There is not enough players on any one managers team to even begin putting some of these rules into effect (PEDS, Matches, etc)
This call for judgement is more of a call to attention to this problem.
To enact this CfJ, the Commissioner must vote.
This CfJ enacts, then all rules referencing bloggers on team, team size, or auctioning have the number reduced by 1 (ie blogger team size from 3 to 2). The Commissioner must then post 2 more auctions for bloggers.
If this is not the way to do, please let me know because this is an important issue that needs to be resolved now.

I would love it if this didn’t happen but we have come to a point in the discussion of PEDs that this problem can only really be solved by actually having the rules play out

Proposal: More Games

Self-killed. Adminned by pokes.

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 21:06:10 UTC

Replace “Gameplay” with:

As a daily action, the Commissioner may oversee a Bloggsball game between two Full Teams (not of the same conference) of the Commissioner’s choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B. As a weekly action, the Commissioner SHALL oversee Bloggsball games between every pair of Full Teams (of the same conference), henceforth referred to as teams A and B. As a biweekly (once every two weeks), a manager may oversee a Bloggsball game between their team and a team of their choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B. As an action, a manager (whose Full Team is henceforth referred to as team A) may challenge a Full Team of their choice, henceforth referred to as team B. If the manager of team B accepts the challenge, the manager of team B SHALL oversee a Bloggsball game between teams A and B.

This Overseeing is an atomic action consisting of the following steps:

  • Calculating the Power of each team. A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s players. Let the power of team A be represented by X and the power of team B be represented by Y.
  • Choosing an odd number of rounds for the game between 5 and 25. Traditionally, this is 13.
  • Rolling a DICE(X+Y), not necessarily in the GNDT, once for each round. For a given die, if it is less than or equal to X, team A scores a point. Otherwise, team B scores a point. The team that scores more points during the game wins the game.
  • Making a post containing the results of the game.

The number of games a manager’s team has played is tracked in the GNDT.

This should allow more games to be played.

Proposal: Amendment to Core Rules

Reaches quorum 8-1. Enacted (into Core Rules) by pokes.

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 21:05:30 UTC

Move Dynastic rule “Atomic Actions” to its own heading in the Core Rules

The last 4 dynasties have had this rule, I feel it appropriate to move it into the core rules at this time

Proposal: Non-free Anything

Reaches quorum 7-0, with 9 FORs. Must have been a good proposal. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 21:01:46 UTC

Add a new rule, “Glossary”:

- Any action that “spends” X or “buys [something] for X” deducts X from acting Manager’s Cash.

If we have money we probably shouldn’t have to clarify what spending it means individually for every rule, e.g. Non-Free PEDs.

Proposal: Manager Image

Reaches Underdog quorum, 6-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 20:59:21 UTC

Add to a new section called “Managers”:

Managers have an Image to uphold for their team and themselves. This Image can be Brains, Brawn, Balls or none, and it defaults to none. Image is tracked in the GNDT. Whenever they acquire a Blogger, their Image changes to be whatever that Blogger’s highest stat is (if there is a tie among stats, then its randomly determined among the tied stats) immediately after the acquisition. Whenever a Manager acquires a Blogger whose highest stat isn’t that of their Image, that Blogger loses one Level. Whenever a Manager acquires a Blogger whose highest stat is that of their Image, that Blogger gains one Level.

Mechanic that favors getting a lot of Bloggers of the same stat (a bunch of Brainy or Ballsy Bloggers, for example). Makes you vulnerable to fool’s gold but rewards you with levels to make it interesting.

Proposal: The Test & Drugs

Times out 5-1. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 20:55:31 UTC

Append to the rule “Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED)” the following

A Manager may drug a Blogger they employ if they have more than zero PEDs and doing the following atomic actions:
1 Subtract a number between 1 and the number of PEDs they currently have.
2 Track on the Blogger’s bio the number of PEDs subtraced in a variable titled “Roids”

When a drugged Blogger plays a game they play with X extra levels, where X is log base 2 of that Blogger’s Roids rounded up.

If a blogger was drugged during a game, after that game they lose thta status and their Roids are set to 0.

Under “Gameplay” add the following step befre the final atomic action:

* A random 10% chance for each Blogger that they are tested. If they are tested and drugged, that information is included in the results of the game.

Here’s a good logarithm caclulator http://www.rapidtables.com/calc/math/Log_Calculator.htm

Proposal: PEDs Mechanics

Times out 4-3. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 20:51:59 UTC

Add to “Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED)”:

Once per week, at any time during a secretly random day determined by the Commissioner, the Cops do an Investigation. When this happens, the Commissioner must do a story post related to the Cop’s Investigation and roll 1d2 until a 1 appears. For each 2 that appears during that process, the Manager with the most PEDs loses all of their PEDs (if there is a tie, all tied Managers lose their PEDs).

Managers can freely remove PEDs from their inventory at any time.

Proposal: Make PEDs do wonders

Self-killed—arthexis

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 15:33:02 UTC

On rule “Gameplay” replace this sentence:

A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s players.

with:

A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s players plus their Manager’s PEDs.

Proposal: Make PEDs compatible with Causality

Enacted 8-0—arthexis

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 15:28:05 UTC

Replace rule “Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED)” with:

Each Manager has the number of PEDs they own tracked in the GNDT as a non-negative integer. A Manager can buy any number of PEDs out of the Back Alley once a day as an atomic action by following these steps:
1. The manager rolls 1 DICE10 in the GNDT and multiplies the result by 100. This is the price for 1 PED.
2. Purchase X PEDs by spending the previously calculated price in Cash per PED they wish to buy.

Call for Judgment: PEDs were never free

Failed due to Quorum of against votes—arthexis

Adminned at 18 Apr 2017 22:06:15 UTC

Matt has added PEDs without paying for it, and created a Proposal indicating his belief that payment is currently not mandated by the ruleset.

It is my opinion that this is a wrong interpretation of the rules, and that the ruleset is actually clear that Cash must be spent in order to buy PEDs, as per the common english understanding of what “pay"means and the “Numbers and Variables” section.

If this CFJ is Enacted, set Matt’s PEDs to zero and fail Proposal “Non-free PEDs” if Pending.

Proposal: Non-free PEDs

1 to 5 after 48 hours. Failed by Derrick

Adminned at 19 Apr 2017 15:02:33 UTC

Add to the rule “Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED)”:

The cost of buying PEDs is subtracted from a Manager’s Cash.

Buying PEDs does not currently affect the Cash field. This provides a relation between the fields.

Proposal: Free Agency

Adminned at 18 Apr 2017 22:26:13 UTC

In “Recruitment”, change

At any time, the Commissioner may put the employment of a new Blogger up to an auction open to all Managers, including the Commissioner. To do so, the Commissioner makes a Story Post (the Auction) containing information about a new Blogger, including (at least) their Name and Level. Their Level is determined by the sum of 3 DICE6 rolled in the GNDT.

to:

As a twice-weekly action, a Manager may put the employment of a new Blogger up to an auction open to all Managers. To do so, that Manager makes a Story Post (the Auction) containing information about a new Blogger, including (at least) their Name and Level. Their Level is determined by the sum of 3 DICE6 rolled in the GNDT. The Commissioner may make an Auction at any time.

Add a new rule, “Terms”:

- Twice-weekly action: A Weekly Action, as otherwise defined in Keywords, that may be taken up to twice in a given week.

I thought of asking in the sticky post what kind of flow rate we’d want for player auctions; but why not give Managers (collectively) the power to decide.

Edited to make weekly twice-weekly.

Proposal: Merchandising

Failed 2-7—arthexis

Adminned at 18 Apr 2017 22:20:11 UTC

Create a new rule listed “Merchandising” and add the following text under it:

Managers and the Commissioner may have a merchandising deal for any of their Bloggers provided that Blogger has played at least one Bloggsball game.  A Blogger may only have one merchandising deal at a time, which is tracked on the Blogger Roster page. Deals are made in a Story Post (the Merch) in which the manager describes the various things that their Blogger might be shown in, such as bobbleheads, hats, dog food and what brand they represent. After that post they make a DICE10 roll in the GDNT and pays $(X * 1000) (called a Merch), where X is the DICE10 roll. That number is also tracked on the Blogger Roster page.

Each time a Blogger plays a game and if they have not been on a losing team in the past two games that Blogger has played, then their Manager adds cash equal to that Blogger’s Merch into their cash.

Proposal: Go West, Young Manager

Reached Underdog quorum 6-0. Enacted by card.

Adminned at 17 Apr 2017 16:20:33 UTC

Append to Conferences:

If they have not done so this dynasty, a Manager may change their Conference.
As a weekly action, the Commissioner may change the Conference of up to two managers.

In “Gameplay”, change

two Full Teams of the Commissioner’s choice

two Full Teams (that have the same Conference) of the Commissioner’s choice

Proposal: Tools

Reached quorum 8-0. Enacted by card.

Adminned at 17 Apr 2017 16:16:57 UTC

Add to “Bloggers”:

Each Blogger can have one Tool. Managers can carry an unlimited amount of Tools and may move Tools between themselves and their Bloggers freely (except during a match), by updating the values in the Wiki and/or GNDT which reflect such. The GNDT tracks what Tools each Manager holds. Tools may have special effects. The Tools a Blogger may equip, and their special effects, are the following:

- Stick: The standard, run-of-the-mill Blogger tool to hit stuff. The Blogger can perform as if they had 1 extra Level while this item is equipped.
- Towel: A popular whipping tool that requires dexterity and finesse to employ. The Blogger can perform as if they had 1 extra Brains while this item is equipped.
- Fresh Trout: A risky, but sometimes effective tool which is traditional from the coastal areas to the north. The Blogger can perform as if they had 1 extra Balls while this item is equipped.
- Bigger Stick: A heavier, more hard-hitting stick. The Blogger can perform as if they had 1 extra Brawn while this item is equipped.

Proposal: Bloggsball Match 2

Self-killed. Failed by card.

Adminned at 17 Apr 2017 16:14:56 UTC

Add a section named “Bloggsball Matches”. Within it, add:

Before a Match between two Teams, the Manager of each team must private communicate to the Commissioner what Bloggers they choose to play at that Match. Bloggsball Matches are played via the Commissioner doing the following steps as an atomic action:
- Setting each Team’s points for the current Match to zero.
- Adding the Level of all of the Bloggers on each team to their Team’s points
- If a Team has a Blogger with the highest value of Brains of all Bloggers in the match, multiply their Team’s points by 1.5, rounding down.
- If a Team has a Blogger with the highest value of Brawn of all Bloggers in the match, add that Brawn value to their Team’s points.
- If a Team has a Blogger with the highest value of Balls of all Bloggers in the match, roll a six-sided dice. If you roll a 6, that team automatically wins.
- If there is no victor yet, giving the team with the most points the victory. In case of a tie, granting a tie to both teams instead.

Three distinct advantages for the stats (extra points, multiplying points and auto-winning), which aren’t calculation-heavy to figure out (just have the toon with the highest stats and apply the advantage).

Proposal: Sports is Big Business!

Reaches quorum 7-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 16 Apr 2017 21:51:49 UTC

Add a new Rule, named “Revenue”:

When a blogsball match is played, each manager with players in the match receives Cash.
* a base of 100,000 for playing a match.
* an additional 100,000 * ( X-10), where X is the level of the highest level player in the game, to a minimum of 0.

A match earns money according to the biggest star on the field! Who knows what you paid for that star in the first place!

I suggest adding more to this list in future proposals, but I think its a decent start.

Proposal: Playing Time

Times out 6-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 16 Apr 2017 21:50:14 UTC

if “Play to Win the Game” has not passed, this proposal does nothing.

Add to the rule “Gameplay”:

The number of games a manager’s team has played is tracked in the GNDT

A Manager whose team has played two more games than any other manager may not have their team play in a blogsball game.

I suspect the number of games played will be a big deal. This should keep everything roughly even, at least until we get a more robust schedule in place.

Proposal: Play to Win the Game

Times out 5-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 16 Apr 2017 21:47:55 UTC

In “Recruitment”, at the end of the first paragraph, add

A Full Team is a Manager employing three Bloggers.

Add a new rule, “Gameplay”:

As a daily action, the Commissioner may oversee a Bloggsball game between two Full Teams of the Commissioner’s choice, henceforth referred to as teams A and B.

Some basic gameplay. Gives me a lot of individual choice in directing some aspects of it, but one can amend that later to remove my choice.

Proposal: Steriods

Times out 5-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 16 Apr 2017 21:45:57 UTC

Add a new rule, “Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED)”

Each Manager has the number of PEDs they own tracked in the GNDT as a non-negative integer. A Manager can buy any number of PEDs out of the Back Alley once a day for $X per PED, where X is equal to 1 DICE10 times 100 in the GNDT.

Now there needs to be a way to use them

Proposal: Conferences

Times out 5-1. Enacted by pokes.

Why We Really Play This Game

Add a new Rule, named “Revenue”:

When a blogsball match is played, each manager with players in the match receives Cash.
* a base of 100,000 for playing a match.
* an additional 100,000 * ( X-10), where X is the level of the highest level player in the game, to a minimum of 0.

A match earns money according to the biggest star on the field! Who knows what you paid for that star in the first place!

I suggest adding more to this list in future proposals, but I think its a decent start.

Proposal: Bloggsball Match

Times out 1-5. Failed by pokes.

Adminned at 16 Apr 2017 10:43:23 UTC

Add a “Bloggsball Match” section. Within it, add:

A Bloggsball match is won by whichever team reaches 1000 (or more) or -1000 (or less) points first. Teams can have points within matches, which are an integer value, and these points are always zero at the start of a Match. A team is made up of up to 5 Bloggers, which have one Tool each (which is typically a large stick, although inflatable hammers, fresh trout and other items are acceptable as well). Whenever a Tool hits an opposing Blogger, the team the Tool belonged to earns negative points. Whenever it hits anything else (except other Tools and Bloggers), positive points are earned instead. Hitting the Bloggsball earns you a certain amount of extra points.

Simple base rules going off the ascension address with two distinct ways to try to win (going +1000 or -1000) to make things interesting. Intentionally a stub.

Proposal: Bloggers

Times out 5-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 16 Apr 2017 10:42:37 UTC

Add a section called “Bloggers”. Within it, add:

Bloggers have stats. These stats can take an integer value between 1 (inclusive) and 10 (inclusive), and default to 5. The stats are: Brains, Brawn and Balls.

Intentionally a stub.

Create a new rule, “The Underdog”:

Quorum is considered to be 1 less than usual for the purpose of Enacting a Proposal made by an Underdog.

Proposal: Recruitment

Reaches quorum 7-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 14 Apr 2017 18:51:42 UTC

Add a new rule, “Recruitment”:

Each Manager may employ up to three Bloggers (what we call Bloggsball players, to disambiguate them from Blognomic players). Information about Bloggers, including which Manager employs them, is tracked on the wiki page Blogger Roster.

Any comment on an Auction that contains the string “I bid $X” or “I bid £X” is a valid bid of value X if X is an unambiguous integer and the commenting Manager employs fewer than three Bloggers. After the Auction has been posted for more than 24 hours, the Commissioner may close the auction by noting this in a comment. When the auction is closed, the Manager who had the valid bid with the highest value X spends X from their Cash to employ that Blogger.

Proposal: Bankroll

Reaches quorum 8-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 14 Apr 2017 18:50:08 UTC

Add a new rule, “Bankroll”:

Each Manager has a Starting Cash value, tracked in the GNDT as “Start”, defaulting to 0, and a Cash value, tracked in the GNDT as “Cash”, defaulting to 0. If a Manager’s Starting Cash value is 0 and their Cash value is 0, they may set both to the same integer of their choice that is between 500,000 and 10,000,000.

Take as much money as you want to start. But don’t get too greedy, we’ll know how much you took.

Ascension Address: Let the Games Begin

Centuries ago, a group of teenagers in Pays-Loups, a small country near Zahndorf, decided to settle a small quibble by hitting various things and each other with sticks. They had so much fun doing this that they decided to do it more often, and other people had so much fun too that over time Bloggsball became not only the national sport of little Pays-Loups but a favorite pastime of neighboring countries as well.

As the Manager of a local International Bloggsball Association-affiliated Bloggsball team, this has so far meant big business for you. But a recent contract dispute has led every IBA player to quit right before this upcoming season. There’s only a few weeks to fill out your team, and maybe win some games, before crowds expect to see which team wins this year’s championship belts.

. . .

Throughout the ruleset, rename “Organ” to “Manager” and “Statolith” to “Commissioner”.
Keep the “Atomic Actions” rule.

Story Post: Oracular rufio wants to adopt 3

Cardok3 swam in the Great Crevice, a vast rift in the ocean floor, its bottom an unknown void.  The little medusa thought it might have seen another medusa not long ago, drifting by the edge of the crevice, but it was not in sight now; perhaps it had moved on to a more hospitable location.  Cardok3 now shared its space with only a small group of eggs precariously perched on a ledge, and Creature who had laid them.  At some point ,Cardok3 was sure, this Creature had been in some way, in some part, its mother as well, had cared for it and nourished it to maturity.  But the Creature changed and morphed at will, growing and shrinking, bulging sometimes in some places and sometimes in others, its fins transforming sometimes into eyes, and long ago, Cardok3 felt, whatever part of the Creature had been its mother had been lost.

The Creature regarded Cardok3 with its (currently single) great eye.  The little medusa shrank back from its gaze, and circled around it to the other side.  Not much to see on it otherwise at present, only strange bulgings and amorphous nodules, and great tail opposite the eye.

The tail curled lazily in the dark, at rest.  Cardok3 brushed past it, as if in greeting.  “Are you my mother?” it asked.  It did not know if the tail heard, or if some homunculus within the Creature heard for it.  Certainly the Creature had nothing it could identify as an ear.  Maybe it responded to touch?  The medusa brushed past it again.  “Are you my mother?”

The tail moved, still lethargicly but seemingly with more intention, to encircle Cardok3 as if in a hug, or an offer of protection against the terrifying monsters elsewhere in the ocean, the great Big Grumpers and eels that lurked nearby.  And there must have been a homunculus after all, because clearly in its mind, the little medusa heard, “If you wish, I shall do my part, little one.”

It was enough.

Story Post: pokes wants to adopt 3

Lady-organs and Organmen of the undersea custody jury,

Let me be the first to admit that I may have become known less as a father to Cardok3 and more as the intrepid explorer of the Large Rock Outcropping named after myself, or the Vent of Laxness or The Black Vent, both now part the furthest known reaches from our ancestral home. Unfortunately, these explorations took me far from my Cardok3.

But today, I’m ready to be a mother to Cardok3. I’ve settled down since those days. Even when it meant tearing apart an entire creature, I came back. I’ve also proven myself to be a doting quadruple-father to our newborn Orao5, who could be raised by me alongside their (somewhere between one-eighth and one-half (?)) sibling.

And once Cardok3 and Orao5 become fully-fledged organs and my duty as a fathermother is done, I hope that they take on the taste for exploration that their father has, and that I can take them with me as a creature even beyond the territories we have charted as a species, past the Skeleton of Hunger and the twin Reefs of Solitude and Pedantry, carefully past the Black Crevice. I dream that I can do this with them someday, and with your help, I can.

Proposal: Let the odds be ever in your favor or something

Reaches Quorum 6-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 08 Apr 2017 22:15:46 UTC

Add a new rule called “The Adoption Games”:

If at any time there exists a Medusa or Egg Cluster whose Mother is Idle or not an Organ, any Organ that has fertilized that Medusa or Egg Cluser may attempt to adopt it and become its Mother.

To do so, the Organ must make a Story Post with a title of ‘[Organ] wants to adopt [number]’ where [Organ] is replaced with their name, and [number] is the number of the egg cluster or Medusa they wish to adopt.
The Story Post body must include a heart warming story about the relationship between the Organ and the Medusa or egg cluster.
If at least 3 other Organs make a comment on that post that indicate unambiguous support for the adoption, then the Adoption is successful and the Organ who made the post is the new Mother.

Once an Organ has created a post to attempt an adoption, that Organ cannot attempt any other adoptions for the next 48 hours.

Proposal: Now for something completely different

Reaches Quorum 6-0. Enacted by pokes.

Adminned at 08 Apr 2017 22:14:08 UTC

Add a new rule, “Time Limit”:

If no Proposals have been enacted for the last 120 hours, the Organ with the most posterity points at that time has achieved victory if they haven’t made a DoV in the last 120 hours.

Loitering Organs

Just a post for discussion.

Proposal: Fast Nymphs

Reached Quorum 8 to 0. Enacted by Derrick.

Adminned at 06 Apr 2017 03:22:10 UTC

In Anatomy, change:

Nymphs, as a daily action, can move its location to a cell adjacent to its current location

To:

A Nymph, as a daily action, can move its location to a cell adjacent to its current location without using a nutrient. A nymph may also spend one nutrient to move its location to a cell adjacent to its current location.

To encourage more movement between creatures.

Proposal: Amorphous Guts

Reached Quorum 7 to 0. Enacted By Derrick.

Adminned at 06 Apr 2017 03:19:15 UTC

Remove “Amorphous” from the list of possible organ states.

Replace “Amorphous” with “Gut” where-ever it appears in the dynastic rules.

Guts really are amorphous, and they are a good default state.

Call for Judgment: Default Creature?

Reached Quorum 6 to 0. Enacted by Derrick

Adminned at 05 Apr 2017 14:13:50 UTC

Maldor and Cuddlebeam are considered to have reached Eve properly of their own accord.

Both should have been placed in the sea of eden as a nymph when they joined. They was not. My bad. This is the simplest way to resolve. If this is voted down, I will strive to track down what the proper game state should be.

Proposal: Repointery

reached Quorum 6 to 0. Enacted by Derrick.

Adminned at 06 Apr 2017 03:10:33 UTC

In “Endgames”:

In

A player has five posterity points for each medusa on the habitat map it is the mother of

replace “five” with “three”.

In

An organ with 12 posterity points

replace “12” with “7”.

Proposal: Adminipokelfication

Reached Quorum 7 to 0. Enacted by Derrick.

Adminned at 06 Apr 2017 03:04:53 UTC

Make the Organ named pokes an admin.

Proposal: Incentive for new Admins

Cannot be enacted after 48 hours. 1 to 5. Failed by Derrick

Adminned at 06 Apr 2017 03:03:47 UTC

Create a new rule “Admin Incentive”:

Whenever a Proposal is enacted after which the creator of that Proposal is now an Admin, the creator of that Proposal may once within 24 hours rename one Creature of their choice.

Since I am not very active as an admin myself and derrick could use some help, I am proposing some cosmetic benefit to the next admin that steps up.

Proposal: Weaponry

Less than quorum not voting against 1 to 6. Failed by Derrick.

Adminned at 05 Apr 2017 15:58:54 UTC

Under rule Anatomy, in the bullet point list add:

Poison Nostrils: A Organ in the Posion Nostril state may, as a daily single action, attack another creature in the same square as itself (As defined in the neighbors rule)

Create a new rule heading named “Attacking” with the following rules:

When you wish to attack another creature, create a votable story post declaring who is attacking what and where (ie Eve is attacking Medusa E3)
To succeed, their must be quorum plus 1 for the attack to succeed. If it does succeed, then remove creature from map, if the creature was a medusa, the prosperity of the appropriate player is reduced by one, then change the state to Amorphous. If it fails, the attacking organ must be changed in the GNDT to organ state Gut.

If the ability of players to post votable story matters is not possible, then this proposal automatically fails.

Lets make things interesting…

Things are always more interesting when you start throwing posion at each other…

Proposal: Time Limit

Self-killed. Failed by arthexis.

Adminned at 04 Apr 2017 13:13:36 UTC

Add the following at the end of rule “Endgames”:

If no Proposals have been made for the last 72 hours, the Organ with the most posterity points at that time has achieved victory.

Statolith Yeilds Uneven Nutrition

I think there has been an errors in the weekly distribution of nutrients.

Eve:

b5 g0 n10 m5 => b8 g4 n14 m8
(b3g4n4m3)

Hanna
b0 g17 n19 m0 => b1 g21 n20 m0
(b1g4n1m0)

I would have thought that hanna, with three organs, would get b6g6n6m6, and eve, with 7, would get b14g14n14m14.

This is not a call for judgement because there might be something I missed.

Hey I’m back!

I’m maldor, I found this site 2 years ago and I want to get back into it
Requesting active organ status ?

Proposal: Medusa voting

The number of Organs who are not voting AGAINST this Proposal (2) is less than Quorum (6) after 48 hours. Failed by arthexis.

Adminned at 04 Apr 2017 01:38:48 UTC

In “Creature Voting”, add:

Each Medusa can vote on a Proposal. Its vote is the same as the effective vote of its mother, if any.

In “Endgames”, replace the “five” in

five posterity points for each medusa on the habitat map it is the mother of

with “two”.

Mature Medusa moms manifest modification motive, fulfill fewer foreperson fundamentals?

Proposal: Feeding frenzy

2 to 4. Cannot be enacted after 48 hours. Failed by Derrick.

Adminned at 03 Apr 2017 15:36:39 UTC

In “Anatomy”, under “Choanocyte”, replace

An organ in this state may, as a daily action, consume one nutrients to nourish an egg cluster

with:

An organ in this state may consume one nutrient to nourish an egg cluster
