I like the concept, but it also implies that once every Room name has been used, no more Rooms can be added until more names are added to the list via Proposal. This could stunt the growth of the Rooms.

Maybe that’s by design, but I just wanted to point out the possible issues here.

Sure, I just didn’t want to put too much of my stamp on what the room names should be by giving us enough to last the whole dynasty.

But it’ll likely take us weeks to use up the eleven new ones here, when we tacitly endorsed a one-room-per-turn limit with House of Katastrophe.

Good point. I was just thinking of the issues Josh and misty raised during your House of Katastrophe proposal, which was that limiting Room creation early might slow down the early game too aggressively.

I was planning on a Proposal to raise the Room creation limit until a minimum number of Rooms is reached. Maybe I’ll add a clause for “the number of valid Names of Rooms” as well just to ensure that this isn’t a problem.

+Master/Guest Bedroom +Bathroom

Just FYI, the trend these days is away from the word “Master” due to its historical connotations. The replacement is usually “Main”.

This feels a tad unnecessary. Unless someone actively goes out of their way to request room names, it’s all under the control of the Narrator anyway. 

Katastrophe’s options when adding a room are:

* Think up a good name for it, at the risk of that inadvertently giving away some information about their identity.
* Leave the Narrator to name it.
* Think up a name in the style of another player, to make people think that Katastrophe is that person.
* Think up a generically bad name (something that doesn’t fit the setting, or that closely repeats another room, or a typo), to suggest that Katastrophe is being controlled by someone who isn’t paying much attention.

Anyone playing Katastrophe tactically would never do the first, only do the third to mimic an unskilled player (because a skilled player wouldn’t be giving themselves away like that), and consider the second or fourth. So it generally skews away from any players giving good names to rooms.

An explicit “Narrator names all rooms” would also work, I just thought I’d try “the group names all rooms via this list” given that Darknight had expressed the intention a few days ago without acting on it, and so that other players who wanted to name stuff could join in on it.
