A very big problem

I searched everywhere and couldn’t find out what a knock-on action is.

Could somebody please explain this for me?

In the rule Local Maneuvering: “...and increase their Orbit Number by that amount. The Shuttle may then optionally perform a single Knock-On Action.”

Basically, a knock-on action is an action that you get for doing various actions in-game (currently, only moving gets you one but other actions get you bonus ones). So if you move to an orbit with a derelict in it you can make the derelict move, but if a derelict moves to you then you can’t make it do anything because you don’t have any knock-on actions to use.

Also, if you haven’t figured it out yet, rolling for Maneuvering is as simple as copy-pasting your Engine into the GNDT comment field and reducing your fuel count by 1. After entering your username and GNDT password of course.

You would then need to update your Orbit manually.

So when a shuttle does something that permits it to perform a specific number of knock-on actions, then that shuttle may choose from all the knock-on actions that are currently specified in the ruleset, unless specified to do otherwise in a rule?

And does the shuttle have to perform knock-on actions immediately or not at all, or can the shuttle wait to do them later?

And why are knock-on actions not explained in the ruleset or on the blognomic jargon page?

Knock-ons are, right now, a dynasty specific term, so they wouldn’t be part of the jargon.

They aren’t well explained because they were introduced as a patch to an existing rule.  If you think they need clarifying, that would be a good project for your first proposal.

And, as I interpret it and the proposal’s author intended it, the knock-on action must be taken immediately or not at all.

Also, I suggest you refuel today; you can do so once per week, so you should refuel before the end of the week.

Thanks!
