I think I may have an explanation; I was looking at BlogNomic from someone else’s computer (running IE6), and the sidebar was all over the place, sometimes over the right, sometimes below the comment box for no obvious reason. Here on Firefox, it’s fine; it’s quite possibly a browser problem.

IE can’t be the problem, because I use Firefox.

I think it’s just a browser-width thing. On a window narrower than around 740px, the floating sidebar wraps to underneath the main content. It’s not ideal, but it does mean that anyone reading BlogNomic on a tiny screen won’t have to page through a lot of navigation before they can read the top blog entry.
