Proposal: Aha, attempt no. 2!

Until a script is written to adjust user stats automatically and implemented, this proposal has no effect.  If such a script is not implemented within 7 days of the passing of this proposal, this proposal has no effect.

Strike “A Monk may often set eir Moves equal to twice eir Fitness.” from rule “Movement” and replace it with “Daily, at midnight UTC, a Monk’s moves shall automatically be set to twice eir Fitness”.

All monks are hereby encouraged to write up a script to implement this proposal.  For information, contact AngryGrasshopper, Kevan, 75th Trombone, or Excalabur for ideas.

for It’d be possible to write a cronjob to scrape numbers from somewhere (the sidebar output feed might be easiest) and append the appropriate edits directly to the GNDT log.

against This really changes the way moves and fitness work, and hurts Monks who can’t check the site every day:  You would no longer be able to Move, set moves=2*fitness, and Move.  This only encourages Monks to play around midnight so they can move farther at once.

Would people be more apt to vote “for” if they could set when they want their moves to update?  *has been working on a script*
