Add a new rule, “Homes”:-
Each Townsperson has a variety of Things in their Home, tracked as a text string in the GNDT under “Home”. This string is composed of a series of characters, with multiple instances of Things being represented with multiple characters. Valid things are:
- @: Human.
- A: Animal.
- v: Vegetable.
- m: Meat.
- F: Furniture.
- b: Book.
- $: Money.
- X: Plague.
If a Townsperson’s Home has no things in it, that Townsperson may add one Human and one non-Human Thing to it.
Add a new rule, “Workplaces”:-
Each Townsperson may have a Workplace, tracked in the GNDT. At any time, a Townsperson may change their Workplace to any Workplace listed in this rule.
If no Townsperson has done so during the current Season, and if at least a Quorum of Townspeople have Workplaces, then any Townsperson may call a Day of Observance. Upon doing so, he or she should go through each Workplace in sequence and - if any Townspeople have that Workplace - apply its effect. (The bracketed word after the name of each Workplace is the name given to any Townsperson who has that Workplace.)
- Farm (Farmer): If it is Autumn, and if there are three Farmers, then each Townsperson gains one Vegetable.
- Church (Priest): Each Priest loses their Birth Sign.
- School (Teacher): Each Townsperson who has a Human in their Home gains 1 Book.
- Forge (Smith): Each Smith gains 1 Furniture.
- Hall (Clerk): Each Townsperson with a Workplace gains 1 Money.
- Court (Bailiff): Each Townsperson loses their Workplace.
Apply all ruleset changes proposed by the earlier proposal “Constellation Games”.
We should probably try to get some kind of gameplay in place this weekend, so that there’s something to do next week - this is some sort of worker placement mechanic. It’s a bit slow, but maybe it’s worth making Seasons faster and decoupling them from the weekend proposal phase. Sorry for the big proposal, but currently limited slots mean that I have to do it all in one go.
(Note that I’ve self-killed my proposal that was two short of quorum to get a slot back, and reenacted it at the end of this one.)
mideg:
Will the last sentence of “Constellation Games” be executed by this? It says “Upon enactment of this rule, each appearance of “a Cloud” in the rule “The Sky” shall be replaced by a randomly selected Constellation, such that all three are different.”
I like the worker-placement-idea.
