In the atomic action in the rule Application, between the points that start “Prepare a list” and “Randomly select”, add:

Optionally, spend 1 additional Stamina to Apply Selectively, changing each instance of the second most common Effect in the prepared list of Likely Effects to “Restorative” or “Productive” as wished

But then using the Applying atomic action will always give one prestige as this would be counted as one of the four steps to be skipped when the effects are not unknown.  I would prefer for prestige to be given out when pathfinders make unique discoveries rather than when they just use the applying action.

Just change

If the Equipment’s effect on that Discovery is not Unknown, skip the next four steps

to

If the Equipment’s effect on that Discovery is not Unknown, skip the next five steps
