Maybe. But the table of contents is right there, and on some level it’s plainer to say “there are four sections in order” than “there are some sections with names which may be nested or fragmented or not”.

“which cover basic proposal mechanics” - this should be fixed to something else while we’re at it, because it no longer covers <i>only</u> proposals. It’s got Fair Play in it too, and these definitions of the other Sections itself too.

Just, “which covers the basics for the nomic” could do.

“Section One” etc. feels a bit more official than actual use, but I’d be fine with a less formal “The first section” etc., as it corresponds to the table of contents on the side. In addition, the proposal introduces a certain degree of redundancy in its phrasing.

Drawing on the comments of Kevan and Cuddlebeam, I might suggest something like this... Which may also cut a few words, it turns out.

[Duke] Those semi-colons are doing a lot of heavy lifting. It seems very easy for a new player to misread “the “core rules” of BlogNomic, covering the essential elements of gameplay; the rules of the current Dynasty; rules which apply in special cases” as saying that all these things are part of the “core rules”.

I wouldn’t mind putting numbers there:

It comprises four Sections: 1) the “core rules” of BlogNomic, covering the essential elements of gameplay; 2) the rules of the current Dynasty; 3) rules which apply in special cases; and 4) the appendix, which complements and clarifies the Ruleset.

I know the idea of this proposal is to take out the numbers, but I actually think they’re helpful as mere numbers (rather than formal titles), and if this four-section structure ever changes (not a common event), I think we’ll remember to update the introduction sooner rather than later.

Per earlier comments, not convinced this is a net positive.
