This places all the power in the hands of those who declare duels first. In combination with choice of battleground, its fine, but without it, he who declares the battleground first will win 9 times out of 10.

Two problems with this:
1. Unfair judges can be chosen, making every duel a safe bet. Easy to fix if the King is required as the judge in this proposal. Broken otherwise.
2. Battlefields are chosen by the aggressor, unless we pass derrick’s proposal first.

End result is aggressive duel generation.

And what do we do if the opponent refuses to choose a battleground? It’s all going to come down to some kind of timeout for refusing to fight.

That was just responding to Derrick. What’s an “unfair judge”?

Scenario: Kaia battles Kevan, chooses Cuddlebeam as judge. Kevin wins by a near margin. Cuddlebeam declines to offer judgment. (Repeatable until Kaia wins.)

New proposal is voted in that judges must judge in order. No longer repeatable with same judge, in same pair-off, but Kaia still gets one “extra life”.

It’s a good plan, it’s just a few renovations premature.

And… I’m actually hopeful that we can come to finish the trial by duels voluntarily!

with tyguy. forced duels are fine, but not until some restrictions are in play.

I like this proposal if Choice of Battlefield passes, so   until it is more clear whether that will pass or not.

If Choice of Battlefield passes this one will have no effect - either textually (the text it is replacing will no longer exist) or logically (an opponent who doesn’t want to fight a duel can refuse to select a battlefield from the three options).
