Proposal: battle’s end

Fewer than a quorum not voting against. Failed 1-4 by Kevan.

Adminned at 13 Nov 2019 10:44:01 UTC

Replace “Retreat: Until your next Battle Action, you may not be the target of Battle Actions.” with

Retreat: Until your next Battle Action, you may not be the target of Battle Actions. If this is the second time you took this action in a particular battle, also gain 10 HP.,

Replace “If there is no Monster, all Battles which are occurring end.” with

If there is no Monster or all non-Monster Adventurers have 0 HP, all Battles which are occurring end.

Hmmm… Second time in a row, or in general? What about the third?

For the second clause, try “all non-Monster Adventurers”, because otherwise the Battle can’t end unless the Monster also has 0 HP, which already is the case.

(By the way, the pre-existing formulation “all Battles which are occurring end” seems rather unnecessarily cautious, given that “no more than one Battle may occur at the same time”. But in this game, loosening the rules may get us into trouble, so I’m not seriously suggesting to change this to “any Battle which is occurring ends”.)

Fixed with a non monster clause.
Second time only but it didn’t have to be in a row. I feel that having it heal too much would drag out the battle.

I tend to think suicidal Adventurer parties ought not to be especially effective, lest we all arrive at uninteresting battle strategies. If the battle ends on TPK, you’d have to also give the Monster full marks.

already 2 hours old unfortunately. probably a good idea to give the Monster full marks at suicide of party or half if everyone dies at the same time due to actions of non-Monsters

As it stands, I cannot support this proposal. I like the idea behind the second part and have voted in its favour in Kevan’s new proposal; we can look at the first part again on its own. against
