This does fit thematically, but it might make the game more interesting if we’re not allowed to Descend at will so most likely a no from me.

If “One Way Out” passes, there may be reasons to slow down Descending at will.

There’s already a cost to Descending in the fact that you’re giving up the opportunities afforded by higher levels, and having to go through the effort of Ascending again if you want to get back.

This is just a flip from the (at time of writing) “descending is impossible” to “descending is easy”. I generally think a rule that’s interesting but thematically unintuitive is harder to build on than one that’s simple but has a clearer narrative.

  It is not necessary that being at a higher Level gives more opportunities as can be seen by some of the rules in One Way Out. In fact there might be more restrictions at higher Levels.
