Note: It could be just some odd werewolf variant. It’s full moon in almost all of the material; however I read a children’s book many years ago where were-somethings could change at will. A moonphase implementation would probably be too sporadic to implement here, at night where night is defined by some range of hours would be fine with most people. Take into consideration that you can’t die from silver if your Wolf Form isn’t present, if the butterknife proposal passes.

Note: The existing rule for acquiring Wolf Form is meant to loosely imply that full moons happen every Friday in Zahndorf.

It should probably also put at least some bad consequences to being bit by a wolf before making making it contagious. Just from a game design perspective.

Well since there’s no health, and it would be too complicated to implement some so late in the game, how about for the rest of the day after being bitten, they can’t take any daily location actions or move; contracting lycanthropy might thematically be fairly painful.
