Proposal: Clarification please

Timed out - Passed 6-2 - Enacted by Chivalrybean

Adminned at 14 Mar 2008 22:20:08 UTC

Change the text of the rule The Man From Nantucket to the following.

If a Ninja posts a proposal in the form of one or more haikus (and only haikus, including italicized text), and the proposal passes, the Ninja may increase his Gold by 1DICE20.

If a Pirate posts a proposal in the form of one or more limericks(and only limericks, including italicized text), and the proposal passes, the Pirate may increase his Gold by 1DICE20.

Well, everyone is already treating it as I stated above, so we might as well make it clear that it can ONLY be that, otherwise you have people rolling 20s, getting the maximum possible benefit, then having it reversed because the rules can be interpreted in two ways.

I’d be happy making it exclude italicized text, though.

It’s not _required_ to post in the form of a haiku or limerick, but it’s been pulled off several times so far, so I think a reward for strict adherence to the form is appropriate.

I was thinking possibly a lesser reward for including a haiku or limerick somewhere in the proposal, and a greater reward for making the entire post in the form.

this ninja does fear
the readability of
rules in poem form
that have been amended
and ruefully blended
with limericks and haiku freeform.

the rules should not have
poetic license per se,
only the chatter.

The admins will just find a way
To decide what a new rule will say.
If an amended rule’s cursed
WITH TEXT THAT IS ADDED BY MEANS OF A SUBSEQUENT PROPOSAL SUCH THAT THE ORIGNAL LANGUAGE IS NO LONGER versed,
Well, that’s why we’ve got CFJ.

Once it is proposed, there is no loss to anyone if an amended rule losed it’s meter and form or rhyme.
