Add a new dynastic rule titled “Debt” with the following text:
Each Player has a statistic tracked in the GNDT called “Debt”.
A Player who is not currently in debt (the “debtor”) may at any time make a story post detailing how much money he needs (the “loan”) and why he needs it. Any other Player who has at least the amount of money stated may make a comment to that post stating that he is willing to loan the money to the debtor. The first Player to make a comment to this effect (the “loaner”) will subtract the amount of the loan from his money statistic and add it to the money statistic of the debtor. He will then change the debtor’s Debt statistic to his name followed by the amount of the loan and the current interest rate. The debtor is then considered to be in debt.
A Player in debt may at any time subtract an amount of money less than or equal to his loan amount but not to exceed the amount in his own money statistic from his money statistic and his loan amount and add the amount to his loaner’s money statistic. If this would put his loan amount at exactly $0, he sets his Debt statistic to “-” and he is not considered to be in debt.
For victory purposes only, the amount of money held by a Player is the amount in his money statistic plus all loans to which he is the loaner minus the amount of the loan to which he is the debtor.
For example, if a Player has $200 in his money statistic, he has loaned 3 other Players money in the amounts of $50, $100, and $200, and he currently owes another Player $150, for victory purposes he has $400.
Add a sub rule to “Debt” titled “Interest Rates” with the following text:
Any Player may, if no Player has done so in the past week, set the current interest rate to X%, where X is the result of a roll of DICE15 in the GNDT.
At the beginning of each week, each debtor’s loan amount is to be set at the amount plus Y% of the amount, where Y is the interest rate stated in the debtor’s Debt statistic.
Bucky:
I could see this causing lot of trouble.
“Hi, I’m Bucky. Could someone *cough* please loan me ten thousand dollars? Because I always wanted to find out what happens if I chug a thousand shots of whiskey at once. Oh, and by the way, this is appended for no good reason to a proposal to change the following rule”
