In “Adherents”, replace “Each Cell has a nonnegative number of Adherents, which is publicly tracked and defaults to the median number of Adherents among all other Cells.” with:-

Clatoc Colony is home to a number of Citizens, each with a Name (defaulting to “Anonymous”), optionally a single Ideology (defaulting to none) and optionally a Cell or Idle Cell to which they are an Adherent (defaulting to no Cell). This list of Citizens and their qualities is tracked privately by the Ministry of Information.

The number of Adherents a Cell has is publicly tracked.

Replace “As a Cyclical Action called Alignment, a Cell (the aligner) may pay any other Cell (the aligned) a nonnegative integer amount of Adherents, unless doing so would cause the aligner to have fewer than 2 Adherents.” with:-

As a Cyclical Action, a Cell may create a Vouch (naming a Citizen and a Cell) and send it to the Ministry of Information, and no other recipients. Vouches may be sent to the Ministry of Information via the DM functionality at blognomic.com or by DM on the BlogNomic Discord.

Replace “For each Alignment that took place in the previous Cycle, set the Adherents of that action’s aligner to 0, unless the Ideological Proximity of the aligner and the aligned is at least 1.” with:-

For each Vouch received during the previous Cycle which named a Citizen who Adheres to the Vouching Cell, change the Cell to which that Citizen Adheres to to the Cell named in the Vouch.

Add a new rule, “The Census”:-

If there are fewer than 100 Citizens, the Ministry of Information may generate a new Citizen with the following qualities:

* A Name taken from the output of the generator at http://random-name-generator.info/index.php?n=100&g=1&st=3 which does not match the name of any existing Citizen
* An Ideology selected in a secretly random manner from the List of Ideologies
* Adherence to no Cell

If “Ear of the Panopticon” passed, replace “A Cell with 1 or more Adherents can become an Informant by spending 1 Adherent and unambiguously and privately informing the Ministry of Information that they are now an Informant.” with:-

A Cell with 1 or more Adherents can become an Informant by unambiguously and privately informing the Ministry of Information that they are now an Informant.

Replace “remove half of the Adherents (rounding up) of the Accused” with:-

Arrest half of the Citizens (rounding up, and chosen at secretly random) who are Adherents of the Accused Cell

Add a bullet point to the end of the list:-

* If any Accusations matched during this action, make a blog post announcing this, including the Names of any Adherents who were Arrested as a result, and congratulating by Name a secretly random Adherent of a secretly random Informant Cell

To “Adherents”, add:-

When a Citizen is Arrested, they cease Adhering to any Cell.

Changing the “Adherents” number into a list of people with names and hopes and dreams. This loses the Ideology discount when sending someone to another Cell, but there’s potential for a mechanic that someone in an ideologically-mismatched group might be unhappy there.

The Ear of the Panopticon patching is bare bones for now (with the 1 Adherent cost becoming a murkier downside that being an Informant might reveal one of your Citizen’s Names): there’s definitely room for a more interesting system of specific individual Citizens becoming Informants, but I didn’t want to overdo it here.

against This is fun, but I wish it didn’t fully replace the original Adherents mechanic before we even try it out. The option to move a maximum of one unit every 72 hours seems like it will make for a pretty glacial subsystem.

Oh, I’d hoped I was still working within the spirit of your rule, when turning it from a number to a list. I guess I had a different reading of how frequent and valuable Adherents would be, based on how the queue was going and the fact we start at zero and don’t have a mechanism to gain them yet.

No objection to upping the speed.

for i really like the citizens having names, and seeing as we don’t even have a way to get adherents yet there’s ample time to fix the pacing issue!!
