Proposal: Chaos has its perks

If the proposal Digging Too Deep failed, this proposal does nothing. Otherwise:

Create a new rule with a Persistence of 4 called “Effects of High Variance”:

The Dharma of any Maestro Team Member that has a Focus with a Variance of at least 4 is considered to be rules text.

When a Maestro Team Member changes Focus, and either the Focus they are changing from or the Focus they are changing to has a Variance of at least 4, then they must increase their Paradox by the greater of either the Variance of the Parallel Dynasty that they are changing their focus from, or the Variance of the Parallel Dynasty they are changing their focus to.

This is intended to be a high risk, high reward kind of deal. If you’re trying to make use of your Dharma, you risk getting so much paradox that you stop yourself from winning, assuming you can even get anything useful out of the paralleliser to begin with.

for I’m a little worried that there’s some scam here I’m missing, but the sequence of events needed to pull it off (getting a good Pure result from the Parallelizer, then bringing the variance of a dynasty up to 4, and getting penalized with a bunch of Paradox but still winning) seems so unlikely I’m not too worried (and the rule seems pretty interesting).
