The Priest nervously drinks down what’s left of wine from the Mass’ cabinet and pulls out some gold coins from a pocket in their robes. He wipes some sour alcohol off his lips with the sleeve on his fat forearm. Preempting what is to come, he wonders if he should spend these tithes on whores, or if it would be better spent hiring someone to put a bullet into his skull.

“There is no hope for Jerez.” he states, in his stupor, and looks up to the roof of the Cathedral.

unnecessary because the paragraph describing continuing the story is a smaller scope (if there is no monster) than the blanket “Adventurers cannot continue the story”. anyone could take that action right now if they wanted to.
