Each Tripper or Idle Tripper who was Idle at 13 JAN 2022 19:28:00 UTC can choose a single Cause, it being the last Tripper they name in a comment on this Proposal.
Randomly select a Cause, then for each Tripper whose EVC is FOR on this Proposal, give 5 coins (if they have 5) from that Tripper to the selected Cause.
its also a bit unclear what happens if you need to make a tripper give 5 coins but they don’t have 5 coins
What if I wanted to vote for this proposal? I don’t have any coins.
How? This proposal says “For each Tripper whose EVC is FOR on this Proposal, give 5 coins from that tripper to a randomly selected Cause, as defined above.” I don’t have 5 coins.
[Silverwing] You can absolutely vote, that step just won’t have any effect on you. (Also, you might GET coins in the process of enactment—for instance, Josh just designated you as a Cause, so you might receive 5 of his coins and then have them taken away!)

Yeah, your coins can’t go below zero, so you just vote and the coin loss doesn’t impact you.
If a penniless player votes FOR, we’d hit “If the Admin enacting a Votable Matter reaches a step which cannot be applied immediately [...] that step is ignored for the purposes of enactment.” - I’m not sure whether the “step” would be “and now I move 5 Coins from this player with no coins” or the entire second sentence of the proposal, though.
Were you idle at Idle at 13 JAN 2022 19:28:00 UTC, Brendan? Only the recently joining-in can select a Cause.

I personally read it as “ Each [Tripper or Idle Tripper] who was Idle at 13 JAN 2022 19:28:00 UTC”. Anyway, Zack could use some coins.
The fact that different people are interpreting this differently feels like it might be a good idea to re-propose under a proper wording as in its current form, this appears guaranteed to be headed for a CFJ

If you operate under the assumption that Its “Tripper or [Idle Tripper who was Idle at 13 JAN 2022 19:28:00 UTC]”, there is nothing saying you need to vote for this proposal to generate a cause.
@ Chemical element AG + bird appendage - Purplebeard is a player who played a long time ago; by making him the beneficiary I am effectively putting the coins out of the game.
But Purplebeard is not a Tripper, so naming him does nothing (unless he were to unidle) and I think your cause is still SW
Idle trippers are a subset of Trippers and I don’t see any reason why that would not be the case for this proposal; the exclusions seem to be mostly ruleset-based
I thought the idea of popularity contests in this dynasty was dead. The player named Clucky has achieved victory if we pick a chop and just do it and it lands on him.

allowing idle players to join at the end and greatly effect a dynasty everyone else spent a month playing seems unfun to me
