Proposal: Chimera (Daemon Research)

Failed 2-3.  Brendan

Adminned at 05 Jul 2007 01:03:06 UTC

Add the following Daemon:

Chimera
Summoning Cost: 3

At any time and as often as they like, a Corporation employing Chimera may pay X Souls, where X is a positive whole real number, to temporarily increase another Corporation’s Cash by $(X * X)M.  For example, if Corporation A has 10 Souls and Corporation B has $-10M, Corporation A could pay 4 Souls to increase Corporation B’s Cash to $6M.

This increase expires 23 hours after the payment is made, as per GNDT timestamping.  During the intervening period, the Cash-receiving Corporation may not spend, give or place in Escrow so much Cash that it will be Bankrupt when the 23 hours are over.

for I’m not sure that I see the point… but what the hell. $0M

Also, shouldn’t your example result in an increase of $16M?

Yeah, Corporation B goes from -$10M to $6M (I just put the minus sign behind the $ accidentally—an admin can fix it if it passes).

It’s not a scam!  It’s just a somewhat-deceptively-phrased tool for enabling Buyouts of Corps who have dug themselves insane amounts of debt.

A little too enabling, I think. The term “expires” feels a bit vague, as well - if I’ve put M$100 of Chimera money into Escrow, does it disappear from there when 23 hours are up, or do I lose M$100 personally?
