Proposal: Chorus of Disapproval

Timed out and enacted, 6-2. Josh

Adminned at 15 Sep 2010 07:38:19 UTC

Add a subrule to Rule 2.2, and call it “We Give Up”:-

Any Befuddled may reply to a Competition by posting a comment with a single AGAINST vote. This is known as a Disapproval, and for the purposes of Rule 2.2, this does not count as having “posted in the post”. If a Competition blog post has Disapprovals from a number of Befuddleds equal to or greater than Quorum, it no longer counts as a Competition.

I like the idea, but I’m not sure I like this implementation of it. Abstaining for now.

I think this is a bad idea because it lets the losers of a large competition cooperate to avoid the consequences.

It’s unlikely that they’d manage to get a quorum together before the consequences could happen, isn’t it?

imperial , but with reservations, per Bucky.

I further add that if some competition really needs to be killed, we can always do it by proposal or CfJ.
