Proposal: Consumers Improved Formula

Timed out (6-2)

Add the following subrules to the rule entitled ‘Production’ (and their respective columns in the GNDT):

Outlets
Outlets require more costly materials to produce than other products. Whenever an Outlet is produced, its new owner loses $3M in cash. The production rights for Outlets are in the Public Domain.

Goods
Goods do not do anything on their own. Whenever time advances, a Corporation loses an amount of Goods they own equal to number of Outlets they own (or all their Goods, if they own fewer Goods than Outlets), and gains the same amount of cash as goods lost. (in other words, Outlets produce $1M per turn, but only if they are kept stocked).

Change the following text in the ‘Production’ subrule entitled ‘Souls’.

As long as a Corporation has fewer Souls than Offices and Factories combined, their Production is 0.

I’d personally rather auction off the Production Rights for Goods than stick them in the public domain.

But rich corps would get yet another edge over poorer ones.

for Maybe there can be other items like Goods that have special effects, and we can auction off those…

for This is a much better version than mine, I think I’ll self-kill my one.

against It isn’t good enough. By my math, if you allocated 2500 production to goods and cash, your maximal profit would be 204. Your profit from just cash would be just 200. So you only gain 4 per round, even if you optimalize everything. You need 6 outlets to product these goods, meaning it takes over 8 rounds to pay everything off. And this assumes that you are spending everything towards cash and do not ave the *6 daemon. For those behaving differently, the benefit is even worse. Add the need for souls… and yeah. I personally don’t see how any sensible person would do this.

My math is not all that good, as I’ve made known, so I don’t entirely follow Clucky’s logic.  That being said, if you only had six outlets, yeah, you wouldn’t produce that much cash from them.  But if you had 60… *shrugs*

for Clucky’s right, though, that they are not very powerful.  By my math, putting all production points into cash gets you $250M, and the best this can be improved to by using a combination of cash and goods is $255M.

Its being underpowered, though, isn’t enough of a reason for me to vote against.  Maybe eventually we’ll think of other interesting uses for Outlets/Goods.  Or we could make goods a bit easier to produce, perhaps by changing the formula for production of goods to be twice the square root of the allocated points.
