Proposal: Cooperation is key

At 48 hours, fails 5-10. —Brendan

If the Proposal titled “Is this your card?” failed, this Proposal does nothing.

In the rule “Spells”, in the second paragraph, remove “who share a dormitory with the caster” from the fourth sentence.

In the rule “Spells”, add the following after second paragraph.

Students may attempt to Distract a single student who is assisting in casting the spell by adding an AGAINST to comment of the post, and indicating which student they wish to distract. The caster’s grade is lowered by by 1 level for every 3 students attempting to distract that student for the purpose of casting the spell only.

Allowing for multi-dorm spells, and disrupting of spells by others.

Ooh, question: Does Distracting count as that Student’s weekly spell action? For that matter does assisting in the casting of a spell count as that Student’s weekly spell action?

And while we’re talking about weekly actions, are they such that:

Once a week Ambisinister may take a weekly Spell Action, and a weekly Wheedle Action, and a weekly Study Action, and a weekly Visit to be made undead action, etc.

OR

Once a week Ambisinister may take an action. This action might be a Spell Action, or a Wheedle Action, or any other once a week action he has available to him.

Good questions, we’ll have to define it somehow. You work on that, Ambisinister.

The answer is:
A) No, and no. Neither of them are weekly actions at all, in fact.
B) The former. See the glossary entry “weekly action”.

against There seems to be no reason for a student *not* to disrupt a rival student’s spell.

against Per undef. This would only make cooperative spells harder to cast (solo spells can be completed instantaneously). Plus, by this wording only the initiating Student (the ‘caster’) can be disrupted, which was probably not the intention.
