Up until they have posted an Ascension Address for the new Dynasty, the Louis XIV may pass the role of Louis XIV to another Nobleman by making a post to that effect.

Separating the key piece out from “This burden is now yours”, where it was presented as a EVC alternative.

Yes. It happened once in 2007 that a victor passed the mantle to someone who hadn’t actually wanted it.

Although reading that post, people seem to have been - incorrectly - assuming that the player could have passed the mantle on again. (In actuality the player idled without saying anything.)
