Replace any instance of Individual/Individuals in the Ruleset with Nobleman/Noblemen.
There are a few places in the Ruleset (namely, the Appendix and one spot in the Core rules) where an older term for Player still hasn’t been changed. I think we’re legally allowed to change it without a CfJ, but I want to be sure.
Also need to make sure you don’t edit “individually”
Seems to be the cleaner approach would just be to update “Spelling” to clarify “The terms “Nobleman”, “Individual” and “Player” are synonyms.
looking into what happened, seems like between dynasty 174 and 175 there were some proposals that were made, then the AA happened, then the proposals were enacted.
I though proposals call got killed when a new AA happened. Did this change at some point?
Individual is capitalized (as opposed to individual), so I don’t think “individually” will be affected. And would it really be cleaner? All it would do is add yet another term for players to keep straight; it might set a dangerous precedent.
Elegance is a virtue. I am against Rube Goldberg machines.
Dynastic proposals are usually ceremonially vetoed to clear the queue, but killing off Core ones would be counterproductive. Maybe we just need an appendix line that cleans up any use of player terms from the previous dynasty (whether though accidental legacy proposals like that, or people just forgetting).
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
