As it is now the End of Days, and I have the most quintessence (due to not spending any in weeks) and my Pantheon is the dominant one of the most cities (thanks, Truman Capote and Chronos Phaenon), I hereby Declare Victory.
Damnit, this wasn’t supposed to publish. I had it written when AG told me that he was failing hte other DoV, but then pointed out that doing THAT was illegal.
I apparently odn’t understand the interface.. I thought i was saving as draft.
Even if you didn’t want it to be, this is, in fact, a legal DoV. The Archon has the ability to decide a DoV’s legality after 24 hours, and e may fail it without waiting for CfJ.
Therefore we were not in Hiatus when you made it.
Even if we were, it still would have been a legal DoV, as it is covered in rule 9, and things covered in rule 9 are permissible during Hiatuses.
Come to think of it, we may not be in Hiatus right now, since section 1.7 of the ruleset states: “Any Deity may post to the blog at any time, but may only make official posts to the blog when the Ruleset allows it.” And rule 1.9 begins: “If a Deity believes that e has achieved victory as specified in the current Ruleset, e may Make a Post to the Blognomic frontpage entitled “Declaration of Victory”, and a Hiatus begins.”
A DoV is an official post, so it can only be made if its creator believes e has achieved victory. There is pretty clear evidence that a mistake was made, and Excalibur knew at time of posting that e had not achieved victory….
The other point is that we’re in hiatus due to the CfJ. Hiatus ends when the CfJ is no longer pending.
This isn’t a legal post, so there’s no point voting agianst it. This is not a DoV. I will set its status to something relevant

It is, however, not a /valid/ DoV. All ye, vote against this. 
And the reason we ARE on hiatus until the CfJ fails:
from law 9—“If more than half consider it illegal, and if no CfJs remain pending, however, then the Hiatus ends and the current Dynasty continues.”
Except that I’d argue we’re not, because it didn’t fail because more than half considered it illegal. It failed because AG used his Archon powers to fail it.
However, we will still be in Hiatus after I fail this one, as it will have failed because of the votes against.
