The acoustics in the bay are really quite remarkable. The way the wind whips around those tall black rocks - why, one almost starts to believe that they whisper strange names to you as you pass. It really is quite unnerving. No doubt this is rational origin of the quaint superstition the local fishermen have of throwing coins on these rocks; it’s supposed to bring good fortune in fishing. I humor them and join in - it is good fun after all - and of course now they attribute that ritual to my recent success.
